3pm Saturday at the Arena
No way SIU loses.
I like Southern by double digits in this one, especially with Fazekas out for Valpo. SIU does need to keep Pippen out of foul trouble, though, since the Crusaders have a pair of 7-footers who can play.
Need to protect home court if Salukis gonna win conference, I think SIU wins big
No way SIU loses.
You do understand Valpo is better than the Drake. And who the head coach is right ?
Unfortunately, I see this as a loss. Valpo does not present a good match-up for SIU, and the Dawgs don't play any better at home than they do on the road.
This team is extremely hard to predict, but I'm fairly certain about this one.
--Insert something witty here--
Trying to predict games for this team is impossible. In fact trying to predict any MVC games is impossible. I think every night you have a 50/50 shot of being correct. That being said, I think SIU will win this one. First game without a leading scorer is going to be tricky for Valpo. But again, who really knows? I can see us winning by 15 or losing by 15, literally no idea. This team has shown an ability to respond though, so we will see. If they do lose I think this team will be fighting to avoid Thursday, if they win theyre back in the title race. I think its that important.
It is difficult to predict MVC games. However, every team we face has an advantage, home or away, it's called the "Hucky factor."
If the team feels like playing, we occasionally win. If not, behind the scenes Hucky drama and antics become a distraction and the chaos ensues, resulting in a loss. Even against teams we should slaughter on paper.
Therefore, I usually predict a loss.
March on triumphantly!
No way SIU loses.

Come on...........Hinson is the Dean of Valley Coaches. Plus, Valpo sounds like a cereal or dog food.
The teams that beat us generally work very hard to get the open 3 and they hit them. We, on the other hand, do not get those numerous looks at open 3's. The one play that drives me to distraction is when the opponent lobs a pass over the entire defense for an open 3 from the other side and our guy, apparently sleeping, is late to cover....swish.
Our offense is eighth grade level...pass it back and forth and try to slip it into Pip. Pip doesn't get that many kick outs for open three's, so when the opponents sag in on him, they often come up with a turnover.
We have few guys who can get their own shot: Fletch, Cook, Mcgill and Beane, but when one goes cold, it seems they all go into deep freeze.
Defensively, we can either be really intense or asleep at the switch. Why is that? Some blame the coach. The coach says the players will not listen to coaching during those times. There is such a wide mood swing in this team...has been for years, that it is almost clinical.
Valpo? Who knows. I guess this is what mediocre looks like.
