This team lacks the fundamental skills and the desire required to win at the next level. I hate to say it, but I'm ready for this season to be over. It's another wasted year under a lame duck coach.
This team was better last year. Old, experienced team just dropped two straight against teams missing their best players. This fucking purgatory just sucks. SIU is a sad, unfunny joke.

Hinson says we can’t turn the ball over like that...no shit Sherlock. DO SOME COACHING. You’re turning the ball over like that every game.

I think Tyler Smithpeters contributions last year are under appreciated.
This game perfectly illustrates Hinson's mediocrity as a coach. Valpo was awful last year (even though they whipped us at their place.)
Earlier this year, Edwardsville took them to OT at Valpo. They've really improved though and certainly looked like the better team .. and the better-coached team. I loved the intensity of their coach on the sidelines - quite a contrast to Hinson's worried pacing while he constantly pulls his pants up over his barbecue belly!
The Salukis however look like they're getting worse. Two ugly losses in a row. Hinson doesn't seem to have a clue what to do when things are going badly. Our offense seems to consist of our big man coming way out by the 3 pt line to set screens. Good idea Barry, having your 6'10" center spend too much time 22 ft from the basket.
And on D he still has our guards/forwards always sloughing off to help out in the lane while the opponents' forwards/guards are swishing unguarded 3's.
I have no doubt that there are a few coaches in this league who, with our players, would have a far better record.
Just got home from work. How did the game go? Did we win?
Craving a McBride Special!
I wonder if Hinson feels even an ounce of guilt about how bad at his chosen career he is. What a bum
Indeed, this was BarryBall all the way. Open 3's, soft defense, no change up or reaction to what other team is doing, timeout's in wrong places/timing, etc. Was it poetic that Lavender put the dagger in at the end? When the score was 45-37 and we had several opportunities to close in on them we failed. No MVC championship for SIU this year.
