Pretty big game against an Indiana State team that we haven’t faced since the 1st game in conference play. Would be awesome to get a good crowd for the Seniors

ISU Game Notes
What's odd about this season is for as "new" and young as this roster is, if Cook hadn't gotten injured, this team would have had four senior starters ... just like last year. McGill, Benson and Suggs have done a really nice job providing leadership, fostering healthy team chemistry and giving this group a chance to dramatically exceed expectations, which likely will boost recruiting and speed up the program's ascent under Mullins. Very nicely done, seniors.

Except that it is a new system for everybody to learn, including the seniors. It has been a remarkable season, and a huge breath (or ten!) of fresh air for the fanbase. The seniors have done a good job of leadership, Benson in particular.

Benson only being in Carbondale for one year is a shame but his impact will be remembered more than almost any other 1 year player down the line. Even in the short-term, if you’re a big out there that was highly ranked coming out of college but things might not be going well for you at a Power 5 school, you can look to what Mullins and his staff did with Benson this year and feel confident that you could be a big part of something special going forward at SIU.
That is really the key, the improvement from day 1. The last several year of the previous coach the teams went downhill rather uphill. I have always looked at a coach in how much the team improves from the beginning of a season to the end. This coaching staff has already shown what they can do and that makes the future bright and will mean something to recruits.
I saw SIU open at 3.5 point favorites but it's down to 2.5 now
I'm genuinely concerned about this game as Ind St is much better than the average fan will give them credit for. I'm hoping that the adrenaline of Senior Night provides a shot in the arm and gives this team a much needed W. As we all know, nothing really comes easy in the MVC, at least not this year. : )
SIU sent this out to season ticket holders this week:
Next Season:
Due to the significant increase in Saluki Basketball interest, season ticket renewal information will be mailed out at the conclusion of our season. The expedited renewal timeline is to afford our current season ticket holders the opportunity to add seats, request re-locations or make any changes to their current season tickets. Once that renewal period has transpired we will work through the large number of NEW season ticket requests we have amassed throughout the past season.
@insaluki InSU has looked really good at times this year, so much so that some of their losses are baffling to me. I really hope we catch them on one of their off nights; I think we're going to need that.
I think they are like most teams in the Valley. Capable of getting hot and beating anyone, and by a large margin... Also capable of getting blown out any given night too. I think if we play our typical home game we win this thing by 10. Also sets up a likely rematch next Friday in STL where we are going to stomp them again. Lansing loves laying eggs under the arch, its kind of his thing.
We are one day short on rest, having played Sunday. Legs may be weak.

I don't think our guys are going to let this one get away. ISU blue whipped us pretty good last time, albeit without Mcgill. The boys are gonna be ready to play tonight and come out with a W on senior night.
The seniors and grad students deserve a fantastic Banterra Center send off. Go Dawgs!
