One of these refs have a daughter that Hensley dumped or something? haha
Stirtz with 30
6 Saluki turnovers in the last 6 minutes. Welp, I wasn't expecting a win... but for 31 minutes here, it sure looked possible.
69-57, 2 minutes to go.
The effort has been quite strong today. But they've run out of gas now.
Don’t get SIU foiling
Drake 75
SIU 65
Final
Stirtz is very good - so good at those drives and bank shots high off the backboard - don't think he missed one. Banks is also very good.
They were really good at those bounce passes to guys cutting to the basket. They would clear out the paint and have a guy cut to the basket and get a pass - same thing on the baseline.
Should be ranked top 25.

Their win over Vandy's looking better and better each week... but predictably, they're still well out of bubble contention due to the infernal NET - currently Drake's got a #63 NET, which isn't getting them anywhere near an NCAA at-large. Their RPI by comparison is #36, and that would've put them in bubble territory, but probably just on the outside, looking in.
This NET deal's been an absolute wreck for any solid midmajors since the NCAA decided to push the RPI out of the way in favor of it.
They shot 70% 2nd half - made a lot of layups.
Could be Murray who is down 24 at half at Missouri State
Vanderbilt is ranked #24 - have beaten #8 Tennessee twice and just beat #12 Kentucky. Drake beat them by 11 on a neutral court.
Give Drake credit. I don't think anyone would argue that they're overwhelmingly talented, but they maximize that talent by playing with cohesion (no doubt, in part, because McCollum brought over quite a few of his former players) and intelligence. In any case, I've had just about enough of guys named Sturtz/Stirtz making the difference against SIU!

One of the highest IQ teams you’ll see. And Stirtz will be a very deserving POY.
Drake’s ball movement is some of the best I’ve seen in the Valley if not the best and they play tough, aggressive defense like SIU used to play in the 2000’s. SIU is still missing pieces to seriously compete in the Valley, hopefully they’re coming this offseason
