I purchase 3 season tickets each year. That will not happen anymore as long as Hucky is here.
Someone, either on this topic or another one, made a comment about the players seeming disinterest during this game. I noticed quite a bit of that. Cook looked disgusted a lot of the time, there was a shot during the game when play was stopped for a foul that they showed Gooch and he was kind of looking off into space like he was dreaming about something better. I thought I saw several glances toward the bench during the typical pass around the perimeter trying to get the ball into the post (which wasn't working at the time) kind of pleading to let them play. May be wrong but the body language is beginning to tell the frustration I think. It appeared they were afraid to take three point shots that they had opportunities to, at least if they would catch and shoot and not shot fake every time before doing something, while other teams are fearless against us.
Sorry for the long posts but my frustration is maxed out. I am from a time long ago, when Starrick and Mouse were the guards so obviously I am old, I have been patient and given Hinson every benefit of the doubt, but enough is enough.
I didn't bother to tune in to this game, opting to do chores around the house. It was a wise decision. My disinterest has reached a peak. I can no longer stand watching Saluki basketball under this head coach. I'm loyal to SIU and wish my alma mater nothing but the best as they attempt to correct the university's image, declining enrollment, and the athletics programs (specifically men's basketball, football, and baseball), but I won't waste my time or my money until they show me the competence and commitment exists to right this ship.
Best of luck SIU! Go Dawgs!!!
I too remember Starrick and Mouse as well as Jack Hartman coaching. On an intellectual basis I get that it could get worse this season but I'm not sure how at this point. Get rid of Hinson.
WOOF!
I didn't go to this game and even forgot they were playing. I got a text after it was over saying SIU had lost another home game. I didn't think they would screw up against Winthrop at home.
It's a shame the program sucks so bad. The Arena is a nice venue with upgrades in recent years.

It says a lot about the state of the program and level of fan interest that it generates when a longtime fan "forgot they were playing."
That has happened to me several times in the past few years, but not this game. I didn't forget; I just decided it wasn't worth making the effort of the one-mile drive from my in-laws' house in Carbondale to the Arena or investing two hours of my time (on a day when I had absolutely nothing going on). I should add that this game was my only opportunity to go to the Arena this season.
Thanks, Hucky.
