Bryant sounds motivated to silence the doubters after last year's injury. Also starting to hear the Chili Davis effect come out. A couple days ago a Tribune story quoted Schwarber and Bryant about how they are going back to their old swings because they feel more comfortable. Davis wasn't mentioned by name but you could just tell that the guys were not happy with the changes he tried to make.
3 days til the opener! Central should be real fun to watch this year. Lots of high intensity games all season long.
Ugh. Not the kind of start the Cubs were hoping for. Apparently they're not the only ones. The last 3 World Series champs have a combined record of 5-16 to start the season.
Hope they can turn it around in Milwaukee this weekend.
They won’t. Bad baseball team succumbing to the pressure put on them by management to treat every game like October.
Better to battle through some adversity now than have to figure it out in August/Sept. The offense won't put up 10 runs every game but the bullpen ERA won't be 8+ either.
Encouraging signs yesterday with the 'pen picking up with 7 shutout innings after Lester went out early. Granted, its vs. the worst team in the division probably but still good to see. Hopefully it gives them some confidence.
Anytime a team has a stretch where the bullpen blows a bunch of games it is so magnified. It became even more magnified since it was to start the year and everyone had concerns about the pen. Add to the fact that MIL started out hot just piled on.
Cubs are going to hit and the SP should settle down. If the SP settles down it automatically helps the pen.
Darvish & Q have been good vs. the Marlins this week. Hopefully Hamels can finish off the sweep.

Cubs are playing great since that 2-7 start. Nice start to 10 game home stand by blanking Cardinals.
