I’m so delighted they held on, much better to go into the playoffs on a high note!
Waino game 1 ?
Waino game 1 ?
For most of the year he has done so much better at home than the road that I’d rather use him game 3. Flaherty would be normal rest game 2 right? Then Hudson or Mikolas for game 1.

Yep, would have to think Hudson-Flaherty-Wainwright for first 3, maybe Mikolas for game 4 if we are up/Hudson short a day's rest if down and then Flaherty on normal rest for game 5.
nevermind, Mikolas is starting Game 1; didnt hear the rationale but I hope it is a good one.
This team has flexed enough talent they could easily win this, they’ve also flexed enough ineptitude to get swept. We’ll see which version of the cardinals shows up

An odd choice. He certainly has the most rest of any of the starters; he hasn't pitched since 9/22.

Well it worked and I am pleased
Mikolas did a great job, impressed with the offense too. They missed a lot of opportunities early but they kept plugging away and eventually broke through. We’ll see how Flaherty handles the big lights tomorrow
Can't count the Cards out. I think they win this series.
Martinez scares me to death - too much like Kimbrel. Always a bit wild - not great control. We're lucky to hang on.
Still wondering why Wong didn't run after that missed ball after DeYoung's bad throw - might have had a play at home.
Acuna's a Bozo - with a lot of talent, but he'll never be great. Childish attitude. If I was his manager, I'd love to kick his A**! Held to a single because he stood there to watch a "maybe" HR. Then doubled off 2nd because he's a urine-poor (LOL - bypass the censor) base runner. He was benched earlier this year for not running out a hit and has been criticized by his teammates, with good reason. Can't stand players like that. Reminds me of tennis player
Nick Kyrgios without the bad temper.
Hope the dummy keeps it up.
Agreed on Carlos. Head case scares me to death. I generally have to leave the room when he comes in to pitch and do a shot. Last night I drank half a bottle.
Finished a case of shots after the Carlos Martinez relief appearance in the 9th.
Wonder if that gutless hack Martinez will whine about being disrespected again. All star arm with peewee league brain. Thanks for likely costing us the series hack job

As much as I agree with you about Martinez being a whiny head case, when you score one run in 18 innings you're not going to win too many series even if Mariano Rivera in his prime were your closer.
