Cardinals pull out a split with Derek Shelton's Pirates with a walk-off hit by Tommy Edman in the 10th inning today. They are hitting the ball but not in key times. Too many runners left on base. Starting pitching is a mess. They did get 5+ innings from Mikolas today. Add to that, they are 2 arms short in the bullpen with Pallante being skipped for a couple of days due to arm fatigue and Hicks is totally ineffective and will only be used in low-pressure situations.

Marmol is fortunate this is Year 2 and not Year 3 for him. Â I believe if this was his third season, and this horrendous play across the board continued, he would get fired at the all-star break.Â
We all knew the pitching sucked. Â Paying Waino nearly 20 million to throw 82 mph this year.Â
But the offense is loaded. Â They have too much talent and not enough spots for them, which will create drama.Â
I think we would have already traded one, but the GM is not ever sure which guy to keep. Â
Whatever the case, there wasnt gonna be a World Series anyway.Â
