Captain D's now open if anyone cares.

Last I heard Sergio's was still not open. Seems like they been working on it for forever.

Didn't Carbondale have a Captain D's many many moons ago that went out of business?  Thought it was near Wendy's.

You're thinking the original attempt at Popeye's

I would think I would have remembered that.  It must have been the late 80s.

Popeye's was originally the building across and west of current Wendy's (directly across from ORielly auto, currently the cash store)

Would CaptainD's have been near where the AppleBees/Panera is now? or the original business of TJ's jewelry?

@woofie2

I remember Captain D’s being on S. Wall St. It’s currently or was recently a day care. I believe a little south of Walnut.

Pizza Hut returned to Carbondale over the summer.  It's just a little building for drive-thru & carryout only.  They seem to have some pretty good pick up specials.

Located on the main drag before you get to Wendy's and Popeye's, near that big gas station.

It is an interesting location choice, but could be effective for pickup and delivery options. (personally I would have put it over on the West side, nearer the residential area, next to Subway)

Sergio's is now open in the old Lone Star location. (reports from coworkers say it is good)

The latest El Greco's was kind of awful.  Apart from that the folks wanting to eat at faster food places like Appleby's, Chili's etc is a death knell for good restaurants in the area.
