Todd Nance.  It was always a good time to dance & Panic when Todd was in charge of the rhythm.

Damn.  One of my big 5 favorite childhood sports heroes...in my opinion he is still the best starting pitcher the MLB has ever seen.

Tom Terrific should have been, without reservation or question, the first player to get into the hall of fame on a 100% unanimous ballot...there used to (and I guess still are) a bunch of twat-head sportswriters that used some of the most twisted logic to not vote him first.

Go Dawgs!

Lou Brock.  RIP.  He changed the game and I wish it was full of more players like him now.

Lou Brock and Bob Gibson were my baseball heroes growing up. My great friend and I would listen to the Cardinals on the radio and shoot baskets in his back yard. I miss my great friend and lou.

Great baseball player who, along with Maury Wills, elevated base stealing into an art form,

Plus, he invented the Brock-a-brella!

RBG passed.  They should give her body to science and study her medical records.  She was a tough old bird.

Yes, she was. I had a chance meeting with her years ago, she was engaging and witty. I didn't always agree with her, but she put a lot of contemplation into her decisions.  (BTW" Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead")

My first couple of years at SIU, Gayle was the AD.  I never spoke with him but I did see him a couple of times outside, when I was over at the arena.

I met Gayle when Fred Huff took me over to his office and introduced him to me. I had just made my 1st Saluki donation. Later on he invited a few of us donors to fly down with the team to the West Texas State football game. After the game the airplane wouldn't start so the airline put us all up at the Hilton. Next morning I ran into Gayle and he took me and anther fan to eat breakfast with him which he paid for. Hell of a nice guy. I really liked him. Sad to see him go and suffer from dementia too.

I remember going to the 1965 college all-star game and being disappointed because Sayers didn't play because of an injury.
