I'll start....
Journey, REO Speedwagon, Kansas (3rd row), Heart (girlfriend's idea), Charlie Daniels. I am sure there are more but I can't remember them.
Doobie Brothers, Heart, Styx, Elton John.
Wanted badly to see Springsteen, but couldn't get the night off.
Chicago, James Taylor, Jethro Tull, Ike & Tina Turner, Sonny & Cher, Journey at the Arena. John Denver at Shryock.
REO Speedwagon and Head East at Merlin’s.
1979 it was Bob Dylan for Homecoming that happened to be Halloween weekend along with the All Ghouls Rugby tournament. That was a crazy weekend in C'dale.
Are there any clubs in Carbondale that have live music every weekend?
Van Halen, Aerosmith, KISS, Bon Jovi, ZZ Top, MC Hammer(Not my idea, got drug their by friends.) Neil Diamond (took my mother)
And the top show....Weird Al Yankovick! Lol!
Plus a few others that have slipped my mind. Can't remember if it was The Police I saw here or in The Lou. I remember the KISS concert being protested by several area churches and they were in full makeup for the first time in several years.
"The bureaucratic mentality is the only constant in the universe." ~Dr. Leonard H. McCoy
@garywilsonfan I was there for the Dylan concert, where half the crowd was in costume. Dylan said this is the strangest freekin crowd I have ever seen.
I also remember Wishbone Ash playing in the quad at the end of the school year (either 76 or 77).
I have saw the same people that have been mentioned but one that has not been I saw Garth Brooks in the late 90s at the height of his popularity before he retired
Saw Springsteen, haven’t spotted anyone mention the great late Jimmy Buffett. Roommate and I got caught trying to bring a leather flask of Jack Daniel’s in to mix with arena colas. Instead of lose it we drank it straight to get in.
obviously I don’t recall much of Jimmy!
I don't think I've seen anyone mention Dave Mason or Kenny Logins. Of course there was Waylon and Willie, Merle Haggard, Kenny and Dolly (took my parents). And...my favorite.....Linda Ronstadt!
