I went to Day 2 of the MVC championship at Southern today. I saw Andre Jackson Take down the Men’s 400, and Leah Thames and Teanna Bell take gold and silver in the Women’s 400. Pretty cool.
I was a little surprised that Southern didn’t have more representation in the field events. I have no idea how this typically works, though. Is it unusual for a program to not have anyone in a certain event?
I guess I was thinking back to Breanna Price and Raven Saunders and expected to see us at least compete in the shotput or hammer throw.
Does anyone follow track & field enough to comment on where things stand with the program?

The program is a shadow of what it was with Price-Smith. The throws are mediocre now. As is the high jump, etc.
