There is another aspect to this we aren't looking at.... Were the players given specific permission to kneel while wearing team uniforms? What would happen to any of us employed in the private sector if we took any political stance (even those our employers support) while wearing a company uniform?

There is something about the nuclear family in there - extended families (which is common in many cultures but not so much in the US):
We make our spaces family-friendly and enable parents to fully participate with their children. We dismantle the patriarchal practice that requires mothers to work “double shifts” so that they can mother in private even as they participate in public justice work.
We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and “villages” that collectively care for one another, especially our children, to the degree that mothers, parents, and children are comfortable.

I think the Black Lives Matter mainstream movement is fine but the actual organization is run by people that have said that they are "trained marxists". So I agree with the movement, not so much the organization.
