Foeller and Dermody are the two decent - not great - arms we have. Other than Dermody, our relief pitching is just bad.

Dermody and Pron are both good arms out of the pen. Riffe has been pretty good too all things considered, but beyond that our relief pitchers struggle finding the zone consistently and when they do find it, it is over the heart of the plate.
It'll be Indiana State again tomorrow at 11 AM
i am betting the over.
Indiana State eliminated SIU 7-3
So in 4th full year, outside of a fluke 2022 where the team was full of 23 to 26 year old COVID players, Rhodes teams have been mediocre.
Finishes of 3rd, 4th, and 6th in the MVC. Largely un-competitive in the Valley tournament.
Schedules in OOC so weak an at large is never even in discussion even with a team that won over 40 games and won the conference.
Refuses to even consider recruiting prep players leading to constant roster turnover and a permanent rebuild. Not a single freshman or sophomore on this year's lineup and losing 7 of the regular starting 9.
Lance Rhodes is not it.
5 of the 9 starters for Evansville today were upperclassmen who have been playing for the Purple Aces since they were freshman.
It's impossible for mid majors to do that, though. At least that's what I was told.

Not impossible. Unnecessary.
SIU hasn't sniffed an NCAA Tournament in any of Rhodes seasons here so...

They won the MVC 2 years ago and were 1 win away in the MVC Tournament

Didn’t see this coming from Evansville. First time in their history that they won a regional.

Evansville finished 2nd in the MVC and cruised through the MVC tournament, run-ruling the first three games. They can really hit and Monday, their pitching was good also.
Unfortunately, since ECU was the #16 seed, Evansville now has to play at #1 seed Tennessee in the super. Great season though and great accomplishment to make it to the super. Fun team to watch.
Indiana St. eliminated Illinois 12 - 2 and had to play #2 seed Kentucky in the regional championship, losing 5 - 0. Kentucky tied Tennessee for the SEC championship. Great season for the Sycs also.
SEMO eliminated #5 Arkansas in their own regional but lost to Kstate in the championship game.
Both InSU and Evansville have freshmen playing, so they're not all portal and JC.
