A 5' 10" guard with Buddy Holly glasses scored all their points!
Went to Benet’s game tonight against St. Viator. Pauliukonis had a quiet game: his 3-point shot wasn’t falling (though you could see in warmups he has a nice stroke) and I believe he only had 6 points. Unlike Luke Walsh’s team, Benet (which won big tonight) is pretty stacked and they don’t run their offense through him. He wasn’t super aggressive but took what was there. A few positives: he moves pretty fluidly, he finished nicely going to his left a couple times and he is an alert cutter, which should bode well for Nagy’s offense.
Given the fact that he has plenty of development ahead of him and he needs time in the weight room like most high schoolers do, I’m going to guess he redshirts next year.
@siudawgs Unfortunately, this sounds EXACTLY like the report I gave after seeing him play live. Hate to say it, but I wish we had that scholarship back.

He definitely has a way’s to go. He had a good amount of offers, so maybe there is developmental upside as long as he’s not being counted on to help next year.

On the plus side:
Starting in the 2025-26 school year, NCAA D1 men's basketball will shift to an equivalency sport, allowing coaches to offer up to 15 scholarships per team. This is a significant change from the current setup, where D1 teams can offer 13 full-ride scholarships that cover all college costs.
just another way for the rich to get richer they can just stash players away from mid majors@siudawgs Unfortunately, this sounds EXACTLY like the report I gave after seeing him play live. Hate to say it, but I wish we had that scholarship back.

@jabman62 That is exactly what will happen. In football it is going up to 105. This will take away the best 1-2 basketball players on each MVC team and 5-10 in football.
I must say that folks have shared some solid analysis on this incoming recruit. I hope to see him live vs Nazareth Academy. Last night Benet Academy (21-5) lost @ Evanston (20-4) by a score of 59-55. Box score was not provided.
