A couple of games that I would be interested in are the games vs. DeSmet, coached by Saluki Hall of Famer Kent Williams. Also, they do have two games in the Metro-Eat area with the Highland Shootout (1/4/25) and the Ban of O'Fallon Shootout (2/8/25).
That was an enjoyable watch. Luke Walsh looks really good. I knew he could shoot from outside, but was surprised to see how many points he scored on driving lay-ups. He also doesn't mind playing defense. Had tons of steals and deflections. But I'm also intrigued by his teammate #32. Kid looks to be at least 6' 10" and is super agile. Caused big problems for the Lutheran team and he works well with Walsh. Can we please have him, too??
Walsh dropped 31 pts last night as Vianney beat Lift for Life Academy 91-56

We'll have to wait. Mamadou Barry 7'1 is only a freshman!

It’s been too long since Southern’s last Mamadou.

The one shining light during a miserable period to be a fan. The Arena had Ma-ma-dou chants going for an 8-23 team
Vianney lost to Hazelwood Central 72-68 but Luke Walsh scored 45 pts. Shot 7 3s
He's got a D1 ready body too. Like Aligbe I think he may get some run his true freshman year. We certainly need a shooter!Vianney lost to Hazelwood Central 72-68 but Luke Walsh scored 45 pts. Shot 7 3s
Nice to see Luke and his dad at the USI game the other day. Wonder what they think of our outside shooting woes. Bet they have an answer.
I think the last incoming high school recruit who put up numbers similar to Walsh was Foster Wonders. But I am banking on Walsh being way better as an all-around player.

Basketball in the UP of Michigan is much different than basketball in St. Louis

Yes, and the competition level is one of the reasons I think he could have a significant and possibly immediate impact. SIU's other fall signing also is used to playing against top-notch competition at Benet Academy.
