Sounds like maybe, they were looking ahead to this game with BU and didn't pay too much attention to Illinois State?
Wouldn't be the first time a team got ahead of the schedule.

Maybe, maybe not. These kids have the talent to be 8-1 right now in conference not 5-4. Granted, we're 4-1 in our last five with a top 25 win, but some of those losses have been head scratchers for sure.

IMO SIU is about where they belong in the standings. Illinois State is just better than SIU and will probably end up finishing 3rd or 4th in conference. The loss to Loyola is a bad loss but the win over MSU made up for that. I would imagine that 5-4 or 4-5 will be the record in the 2nd half. Missouri State, Drake and Illinois State are clearly more talented than SIU. The toughest 5 opponents are on the road in the 2nd half. The Massey rating service which is very reputable and not subjective predicts outcomes on a game by game basis. In not one of the 5 road games in the 2nd half does it give SIU a greater than 40 percent chance to win the game. Just wanted to give a realistic perspective on SIU. Yes SIU has talent but not much depth, consistency or most importantly coaching.
coach is a good person but it might be time for a new direction. hate to say it because we have made progress. inexplicable losses and a seeming progress plateau
