Time to open a new softball season thread. SIU opens the season Friday in South Carolina with two tough games.
Ohio State is the opening game followed by the Salukis and South Carolina.
Schedule change already. No games on Friday.

I think our pitching has got to be a real concern! Not sure we have an ace. Freshman Harness might be our best pitcher.
Rough start! Hopefully SIU bounces back tomorrow and takes the last game against North Dakota State.
I'm not saying we don't need to improve, but SC won 38 games last year, only lost 5 games outside of the SEC, and are only 2 years removed from finishing 3rd in that league. OSU won 35 and finished 4th in the B1G.
These were two really good teams we lost to. Replacing Bri Jones isn't going to just happen. She did so much for us last year. These will make us better in the long run.

SIU has just 11 hits in 5 games and 5 of those were against ND St. - only 5 runs scored in 5 games - that won't get it done!
