Well - another loss. 69-51 at Valpo. We were down 19 at one point. Cut it to 58-51 with about 4 min left then missed our last 10 shots. Another key moment we were down in the 2nd qtr cut the lead to one then Valpo closed the 1st half on a 10-0 run.

Uchenna had another big game. 21 pts, 21 boards. Uchenna played through a lot of double-teams and still got her numbers. Pretty much nothing from anyone else. Allmond had 11.

Back at home on Thurs night against a high-powered Murray team at 6pm.

At least Murray didn't drop a hundred on us like I thought they might. 92-68 final. Four of the Racers starters in double figures & one bench player. Other than that one bench player they didn't have jack from thier bench.

Uchenna with another double 12&12 against one of the better posts in the league. Cooper led the way with 19.

Don't know why 6'4" Gaines isn't playing more. For a freshman she plays decent D, can get up and down the court and fights for the ball. SMH.

Nice to see the team cheering for each other even though we were down big for most of the game.

Another tough one Saturday at home. Belmont at 2pm.

This hire was made before Leonard was here. I suspected at the time it wasn’t a great hire.

Lady Dawgs snap thier 7 game losing streak and win thier first Valley game 63-58. Uchenna with her 9th double with 20 pts and 17 boards. Uchenna leads the conference in rebounding, is second nationally in total boards and leads the nation in offensive rebounding.

Curman was the only other player in double figures with 10.

Allmond didn't dress. Thompson injured her knee.

Up next  - at Evansville Sunday.

Well. Back to losing 85-70 - to a team we should have beat. Evansville had all of their bench players score in double figures. 19, 18 & 10. Our bench.... a scintillating 10 points total. I'm scratching my head at how we get good looks, but just keep missing shots. Then we play decent defense and the oppositions shoot out of thier minds. It's been like that for a few years now.

I think someone needs to do a karma cleanse to this team and burn some serious sage.

Uchenna had another monster game. A near triple double. 26/19/7 blocks. For the weekend she had 46 points 36 rebounds and 11 blocks. And will she get Valley Player Of The Week? No. I could go on and on about that.

Palmquist had a nice game 19 points with 5 threes. Cooper with 14. We were down four players with another (Brown) not at 100%.

The Iowa's come to town next weekend with the Purple Prairie Kitties up first on Friday night. Both teams will be pissed as they both got swept by Murray and Belmont this weekend.

Well. I figured this was gonna be a bit ugly. But not 29% shooting ugly. 84-59 UNI. It boggles my mind (and disturbs it) that we miss so many shots. And easy ones at that. I just don't understand how we miss wide open layups. And we're not taking as many bad shots as we did earlier in the season  turnovers are down too.

UNI did a nice job of "containing" Uchenna. She still had a double-double over her averages. 17 & 13.  But she didn't score in the 2nd half. That's like her 12th double? Anyhow. 20-67 from the floor. If it wasn't for UNI sending us to the FT line often and us making FT's tonight, (79%) this score could have been waaaayyyy worse.

Oh one other in double figures scoring - Palmquist had 10 and two others with 9.

So Drake on Sunday at 2pm.

Bond will be gone at the end of the season, right?

I’m too lazy to look up her contract but this wasn’t a Leonard hire, so unless the buyout is crazy for SIU, he’s going to want to find someone of his own.

I agree.  SIU has to make a change after this season.  SIU’s women’s basketball program has stagnated and took a step backwards this season.🤔
