Let's see if we can have a decent 3rd quarter here.

Murray was a 15 point favorite.
We outscore Murray 47-33 in the 2nd half. Out rebounded by 4. Only 7 turnovers for the game. 6 blocks, four from Taylor. 6 called fouls on us in the 2nd half. 8 on Murray.
Two big FT's from the freshman Mason late to keep it a three possesion game.
No comment from coach after the game. Not really liking that. Haven't heard from coach post-game for several games now.

WarrenNolan.com Prediction: Belmont -13
Series History, Belmont Head Coach & Bruins Overview:
This is only the second ever meeting with the Bruins, the first contest was back in 2002 and we lost 67-57 on a neutral court in Long Beach, CA.
Belmont is coached by Bart Brooks in his sixth year as Head Coach. Prior to Belmont, Brooks was an assistant coach under legendary coach Doug Bruno at DePaul for eleven years. The Blue Demons made the NCAA tournament in each of the eleven years he was at DePaul. These are his only two coaching gigs. Brooks’ resume is impressive to say the least. In his time leading the Bruins he has compiled a 123-34 overall record coming into this season and a ridiculous 80-9 record in OVC play and only ONE loss in OVC tournament play.
That was the OVC – Valley play will be much different now that he must deal with Drake, UNI, Missouri State and Illinois State instead of SEMO, Little E and EIU and the rest, but he still has to deal with Murray. They’ve gotten off to a bit of a rough start having played a challenging schedule with Georgia Tech twice (L, L), Georgia (L), a ranked Louisville (L by 5), ranked Iowa (L), ranked Villanova (L by 3). We have one common opponent in SLU who they beat by 10 in an MTE.
The Bruins currently sit at 108 NET 104 RPI and 35 SOS.

The Bruins are in the middle of the pack in most Valley categories. The only things that stand out – they are last in rebounding, last in steals and next to last in forcing turnovers. Conversely, we’re first in forcing turnovers and steals. They’ve been outscored in the first quarter by 38 points and the third quarter by 22.
Bruins Dramatis Personae –
Belmont plays a ten player rotation – because they only have ten active players.
Leading scorer for the Bruins is Destiny Wells a 5-6 junior guard who averages 16.3 ppg and has dished out 81 assists on the season. She is third in the league in scoring, 4th in assists and shoots at a .394 clip.
Next is Madison Bartley a 6-3 junior forward that averages 12 ppg 4.8 rebounds and shoots 47% from the field.
Sydni Harvey is a 5-10 graduate student guard that averages 9.8 ppg.
Tessa Miller is their leading rebounder at 5.8 per game and is a 6-2 sophomore forward averaging 5.3ppg.
Kilyn McGuff is a 6-0 sophomore guard who averages 8.3 ppg.
By the fact that everyone of their 10 players plays – their lowest minutes per game player is 6 minutes per – they probably don’t want to get into a track meet type of game which is what we’re capable of. It could wear them down. Getting them into foul trouble would be a major advantage. Their last game out, they beat Missouri State which had a poor shooting night from everywhere. The Lady Bears had another big rebounding night, but Belmont just made more plays and critical fourth quarter free throws in a 75-66 win.
What’s Up With Us?
That was big to get that road win at Murray. Nice to break out of our third quarter and second half funk. Even though we gave up 73 points our defense is looking better with each game and our turnovers are going down. We have some injury issues: Seairra Hughes is out, and she was in a heavy-duty walking boot. Adrianna Katcher has shin splints and is out again. Not sure why Shemera Willaims was out. She travelled to Murray was dressed for the first half but wasn’t in uniform for the second half. Ashley Jones had another solid game and we had good and timely three-point shooting from Q, Brown and Holmes. Mason is going to be special; every announcer has given her high praise so far. Taylor was vocal and active on both ends of the floor again and Nard has some really nice moves down low. Crossing my fingers that the Murray play rolls over into this one and we can split this four-game road trip.

Jesus - we have a really bad habit of making mediocre shooting teams look like The Golden State Warriors.
