No surprise that Belmont is picked first. Like us MoSt has a new coach (she's a former Power 5 asst too), lost a lot of firepower and have nearly a whole new roster. UNI returns quite a bit from last year I'm surprised they are that low and ISU-R is that high. We have only one returning starter (Q Love) and a few returning role players, so seventh is probably about right for us.
Even though we're 7th in preseason poll, I think we're better than that. Got my season tix and am ready roll with this new group! Nov 5 exhibition (McKendree) and Nov 12th (Middle Tn St) season opener at home!

The Kelly Bond-White Era officially begins!
And this is a good test right off the bat. The Blue Raiders are coming off of a successful 21-22 season that featured 27 wins, a second place 14-4 C-USA record and a semifinal spot in the Women’s NIT. The Lady Raiders were picked first in the C-USA pre-season poll garnering 9 of 11 first place votes. They have three players picked to the pre-season all-conference team including transfer portal player, Savannah Wheeler (5’6” Jr G), who came from departing C-USA member Marshall. She led the conference in scoring last season at 20.2 ppg.
The Lady Raiders return nine total letter winners and all-conference 2nd team selection Courtney Whitson (6’ Jr F) and Second Team C-USA, Sixth Player Of The Year and WNIT All-Tournament selection Kysenia Malashka (6’ R-Sr F Minsk, Belarus.) MTSU is coached by Rick Insell who is in his 18th season at the helm.
If this team sounds familiar it is. We played them last year in Murfreesboro and lost 62-61. We were up 5 with five minutes to play and up a bucket with about two minutes left. We had two fouls and a costly turnover with less than a minute to play. Silvey scored at the buzzer for the final margin. This ended up being one of our four quadrant one losses last season and one of two Q1 losses by one score. MTSU lost its season opener by one at Mercer and play Belmont after us for their home opener.
It looks like we have some injuries, most notably to our USC transfer, Shemera Williams, (don’t know what her status is, she did not dress for the exhibition last Saturday) and Junior returnee; team captain, Adrianna Katcher, who is in a walking boot.
