Hold onto your butts!!!
Bow Em
Watch that bum official make a game changing call for YSU on this drive.
Fuck yeah. Way to re-group after that horrible start boys!
Great win especially considering how the game started. Way to go Salukis!
Just win baby! Outscored them 23-3 after the 19-7 start! I think it helped that their running back was totally gassed in the 4th quarter! Need to clean up the run defense, as our offense and defensive secondary are playing well. Bring on UNI in a huge home game!!!
3-1 is pretty sweet! Haven’t been there in awhile!
FYI - SIU covered the early line which was SIU -7, and pushed on the late line as the game went off at SIU -8. Luckily, I got on it early.
First impressions;
We won.
Offense = B
Defense = C- at best
Coaching = C
Defense the first half was swinging gate. Good halftime changes but then we almost gave it away on that last drive.
I get that there might have been some letdown after the big win last week, but coaching has to do a better job I think of getting intensity level ready from the start on both sides of the ball. Offense played well but both sides need to.
On to next week, need to keep the W's coming.
I think it's become obvious Javon Williams is playing hurt. He limps badly off the field after every play and has all year.
Yes. Did he even play in the 2nd half?

Yes, he carried the ball a few times in the 2nd half from both the wildcat and RB positions.
This game should tell us if last week was a fluke or we are riding a special horse this year. Nic Baker was great last week against #1 NDSU, if he comes anywhere close to that performance today then there should be no doubt who should be holding the reins at QB.
"You're never going to rattle Nick," Hill said. "The kid plays with an unbelievable amount of — the kid has something. I know he's 5-8-and-a-half, this, that and the other. He just has that 'it'. If he throws a pick, he doesn't lack confidence the next series."
I think we have a QB! Cool customer! He's only going to get better.
Also really liking our pass D and Romeir Eliott -> showing some Larry Warner fake-you-out-of-your-jockness! 100 yds and 5.4 yds per carry.
Like at N.D., really flat 1st half on D but coaches made some adjustments and the D shut down the run in the 2nd half. Their little RB was quick as a cat.
Did not care for the play calling when we had the ball at the 43 with 2:47 left and just needed a 1st down or two. Way too conservative. Then they march down the field and fortunately we stop them before they can tie it.
Going to have to play better from the opening kickoff next week against UNI.
I agree about Baker. He has a lot of poise of really manages the game well. You can tell his confidence in himself and his ability. Look forward to him playing the rest of the season.
Not the start we were hoping for, ladies and gents.
But definitely the finish we wanted. Looked choppy, but Petrino seemed to rally the defense in the second half.
