Hey, you can be upset at officials AND upset at how your team plays. This game qualified for both tonight.
On the player side, personnel not getting plays in time, too many players on the field, players looking GASSED…those are disciplinary issues. Honestly, I’d expect this out of the Quarless days, but not Nick Hill. Red flags all around.
Bow Em
I'm glad Pop Jones got to show his talent?????
He's hurt, that's why he hasn't played. He'll be out for a while.
The team is still in disarray, looks like a step back.
Next year will be the 40th anniversary of SIU's victory over Western Carolina of the D1-AA championship game. 43-7; dominating! Aah!, those were the days.
Why is Hartrub still out? Outside of A. Cox, the receiving group looks fairly weak.
We've mentioned it a few times on radio; probably should say it more. Hartrup has a hamstring injury from the beginning of camp that hasn't healed. Hasn't even practiced yet this season. Unclear on when-or if-he will return.
Rose colored glasses or not I do like the way coach Hill took responsibility didn't put blame anywhere or anybody but one observation is the pass defense is not very good and no matter how good your dbs are if you can't pressure a qb you are doomed for failure so either are linemen aren't very good to leave up to a 4 man line or they need to scheme up blitzes to put on pressure

Thanks. A bummer - he showed quite well as a freshman.

Most of the game SEMO didn’t give the D-line a chance to get pressure. They were throwing bubble screens and quick slants, getting the ball out of the QBs hands quick and they hit on them all night. Petrino got out schemed all game, and never really adjusted. I’m sure a lot of it was trying not to give up big plays so the DBs we’re giving tons of cushion. Defense needs to figure something out because 64 and then 34 points is not good enough regardless of the terrible officiating.

Scouting the Saluki football team has to be one of the best and easiest assignments an opposing coaching staff can get. Same old, same old from SIU. Stale and predictable game plan. Combine that with lousy execution and effort, equals losses for the Dawgs. Some here on SI see 3-4 wins, I'm not sure this team will win a game this season. Northwestern will be a disaster short of a miracle. Hope this thing can be turned around, but not expecting it.
March on triumphantly!
Nebraska coach gets canned. Thought he would at the end of the season, but their AD not waiting around.

@maroonloon exactly what has happened to the imagination of the offense it was better when Hill was OC seems like he falls in love with certain plays whether they are successful or not doesn't seem to be more than 2 or 3 plays for situations need an expanded playbook
@maroonloon Nebraska could have saved $7.5 million if they had waited until October 1st to fire Frost. Obviously, they decided that they could not wait.

This team doesn't really have many playmakers on offense. Hartup being out kills. It's really just Ro Elliott and Avante Cox right now with Javon Williams sprinkled in.
@salukiworld in my opinion you have to scheme your plays to the talent of your players so they can be successful that is what a coaching staff should do
