HOLY COW!!! Incarnate Word takes it right down the field twice in the first 7 1/2 minutes of the game and leads the Bison 14-0 in the FargoDome.
Incarnate Word up 14-0 early on North Dakota State
Now, the Bison fumble on the kickoff and end up with the ball on the 2. First play, Incarnate Word stuffs them in the end zone for a safety. 16-0 Cardinals.
Don't know if they can keep it up, but to me UIW looks like the next National Champ. My only question is how the H did they ever lose a game? to SE La I think. They have some weapons and Lindsay Scott is a heck of a QB - might be playing in the NFL next year.
huge break for NDSU - haven't been able to move the ball at all and recover punt at 1
IWU-16
NDSU-3 after 1.
NDSU comes back with 2 TD's before the end of the half and the Bison lead 17-16.
UIW was up 16-3 and had the ball with 4th and goal at the 1 and the QB wasn't ready for the snap and the Bison have been on a roll since.
UIW absolutely robbed by the refs. NDSU fumbles, UIW recovers. Replay official says the player was down. Was not even close to down. Even the announcers couldn't believe it. Total BS!
Incarnate Word throws it up for grabs for some reason with 1:13 left and NDSU picks it. Game over.
NDSU lucks out. Terrible calls by the refs - they took away a UIW TD - looked like a catch to me - and gave NDSU the ball after they obviously fumbled.
Sure hope NDSU doesn't win it all - I think the better team lost here.
Montana St at SDSU tomorrow at 3PM.
Last year SDSU lost to MSU in Bozeman.
I think they'll lose again.
It'll be SDSU vs NDSU again in the Finals
Wow SDSU looked as good as Ive ever seen them - was amazed at their passing game considering it was 8 degrees and wind chill even worse. Gronowski played great. Held MSU's incredible rushing attack to 52 yards. Field was snowy and icy, which really affected their running game.
Sure hope the Jacks can beat NDSU again.
I personally believe that SDSU has the better QB, RB, O line, and Defense. They most certainly are playing their best football, at the right time of the year. As some have mentioned, NDSU was quite lucky to win at home once again, aided by some very questionable calls by the striped shirts. Another all MVFC National Championship game. It truly is the SEC of the FCS.
Side note: The game is on a Sunday, @ 2:00 on ABC?
This would lend itself for a great day nationally for the conference, and the FCS. Both of these schools travel well for their football teams.
