@siu_2011 it was at 6 pm.
defense played good even with a few guys sitting out. Offense did put up a few points. 17 total in 65 plays. Most series started around the offenses 35 or 40. Baker 3 drives that ended with punt, punt, Int. Zabrowski 2 drives both punts. Simmons 1 drive ended with QB 1 yard rushing TD, Norton 1 drive ended with 33 yard FG, Lindauer 1 drive ended with 35 yard TD pass,

Better showing for offense but lots of work to do. Defense has lots of pieces and depth.

Thanks for the synopsis…glad we scored some points, but unfortunate it wasn’t by the 1’s. Now we wait for game 1 for them to prove it.

It won’t take long to find out area’s we need immediate improvement. IW is a big game between two teams that could find themselves looking back to week 1 on who gets a bid to the tournament. Huge early season implications.

Agreed. I think the one thing that has me hopeful, despite the offensive woes to date, is that IW isn’t really a defensive stalwart. As long as our defense can keep them somewhat in check we should be able to score some points. Hopefully Hartrup is good to go week 1…that would be helpful.

SIU football Twitter has a good highlight video of Saturdays scrimmage and some 1 on 1’s from the 10.

Northwestern came back to beat Nebraska in Dublin today. They look much improved from last year, at least on offense.

I'm not optimistic about our game with them. I'll take it as a good sign if we can keep it competitive.

Could be looking at 1-2 start with a meat grinder of a conference schedule to play. After watching NW I just hope we are healthy come week 4.

So much negativity here for a team that’s yet to step onto the field. I understand the injuries at WR, but other teams have injuries too.

We should have a very good team this year but our conference is loaded. Love Hill and what he has done at SIU

@kyle_saluki_17

I like your style Mr. Kyle and agree 100% A positive mindset is indeed needed entering into any endeavor. A new job, having a child, start of school, beginning a medical treatment plan etc. Starting a season for any sport means having the correct thought process. We have a very good football team, let us all embrace, and support them as they work towards another national playoff bid. May God bless them all.

GO DAWGS!

QB - excellent, O line - excellent, RB Hull - excellent, Receivers - excellent. Ran all over Nebraska 2nd half. Tough game for us.

I am thinking start your season in Texas and also end your season in Texas. That would be a good season.

@barkeep-1967 No doubt we're the best FCS conference top to bottom!
