Rey Dempsey and his team brought a lot of excitement to SIU in the Fall of 83. What a defense! Numerous goalposts met their demise that Autum.
Rey is 87 now. So glad he can make the trip to help celebrate the 40th anniversary!

I know times have been tough before will Hill, but I really hope we can keep him long term. For one, I’m not sure we could get anyone better than him. And two, IF there is someone who will succeed big time and actually stay here, it’s him due to his family ties. It could still be a long shot if he wins big time, but I like our chances better with Hill than others.
Hill has done a great job rebuilding the program to respectability and increasing the talent level on the field and coaching staff now the next levels are consistent playoff bids and deep runs in the playoffs and I am sure that are his goals and he will stop at nothing to do it
