He is now not listed on the 2018 roster (#5)--I've heard some rumors--too bad if so
I hope he's coming back. He definitely brings some good things to the team when he's healthy and focused.
Hoping this is just an oversight. He has some of the most explosive plays of recent year.

I can't imagine that being the case considering it would have required to remove him from the roster. And honestly I'm not too upset over it. For every explosive play he made, he would have 5 mediocre plays including some fake limping to the sidelines. Seemed obvious to me that the staff was getting tired of the routine as well. I believe the term would be mental midget.

I’m not too upset either, we need better running backs than him, period.

Have to agree with the above takes, for all his exciting plays, there were just as many, if not more, so-so plays. Kid had potential, but didn't live up to it. We can do better. If he does return, maybe he'll step it up. Wish him well regardless.
March on triumphantly!
Underdawg, the rumors you are hearing are correct. A big shame. I hope he gets it figured out.
Let me be clear in my opinion....obviously in football, especially with running backs, not all plays are going to be big hitters. The issue, in my opinion, was the attitude and outward display of frustration, "injury", etc. during the normal plays that occur during the course of the game.
DJ Davis, on the other hand, seemed much more even keel throughout the game and had just as many big time plays. With the addition of Strong, I think we will be ok with our RB rotation.
I'd be curious to hear SalukiDad's thoughts or snippets he may have heard on DJ Hampton and how he progressed during his redshirt year.
I always liked DJ Hampton. Very polite and respectful young man with a good sense of humor. I'm hearing he has bulked up a bit. I think he will get a shot to show what he can do come camp but I will ask a few questions this week.
Wood, I had a little chat yesterday. Very early yet but I think we will see some good things out of DJ Hampton. I know its the other side of the ball but the player that seems to be really impressing his peers is Jeremy Chin. He has supposedly added a LOT of strength in the off season to go with his already impressive athletic ability.
The new AD/old football coach is fully on board with Coach Hill's desire to hold the players to a very high standard. That is why you are seeing these transfers. It might be a bit painful up front but I think the long term change in culture and standards will reap huge benefits.
I would envision Chinn being drafted after the '19 season as he certainly is a ball hawk and now has the strength to go with the size and athletic ability.
Hey FootballDad, can you expound on the 'holding to higher standards' i.e. give us some examples of what the FBS transfers did/didn't do? No need to put a name to the actions. One would think that perhaps they were repeating the same actions that made them transfer out of their original programs.
Thanks!!!
I'm not sayin' -- I'm just sayin'!

I could be way off, but guessing this refers to commitment levels in the classroom, the weight room, and ultimately commitment level to this program.
While academics, commitment to the program, etc... are part of the culture that they are trying to shape up it is not everything. Some of the departures have made poor personal choices with certain substances. I will leave it at that.
