Football Saturday, Noon at North Dakota, Bubba Schweigert and the 3-4 D! Supposed to be on ESPN+ or ESPN3 but I don't see it on the WatchEspn schedule! FCS probably not important enough to update the schedule!  Guarantee that schedule would have been updated if there were SEC or Big 10 games Saturday! I contacted them and allegedly they are going to fix the schedule.

Kare Lyles is the starter at QB.

According to Craig Haley, they have a lot of returners but will be inexperienced at the skill positions (and QB).

If you have an Athletic subscription, they did an article on the SEMO-SIU game/rivalry:

The game is on ESPN+.  If you go to Football, then Live and Upcoming, scroll to the right. It's there.

I am hoping that, from a football standpoint, COVID plays/played into the FCS’s hands. FBS and pros both finished up. If we were talking any other sport aside from football I would be skeptical, but the hardon this country has developed for the game of football, its demand and wild popularity even over the last 20 years, I could see some casuals tuning into games.

I'm excited - will be checking out UNI Fri at 7.

I am looking forward to it.  Hopefully the exposure of basically being the only live football will help the exposure.  One thing it should do is give the pro scouts more time to get more familiar with some of the talent at this level.  Looking forward to hopefully a playoff season for the Salukis!

SDSU wins at UNI 24-20 with a freshman QB and a rebuilt O line. Both teams have tough defenses. SDSU qb is going to be a good one. They might be the best team in the MVC. RB Pierre Strong looking good.

.......

Hey Coach Hill!

Michigan QB w 3 years left in transfer portal..

I watched this game.  Both qb's, a true freshman for SDSU and of course the MVFC's preseason all conference pick and only a sophomore for UNI, make our qb look like a high school kid.  And don't forget NDSU is replacing a qb that's a possible first round pick with an Iowa State transfer.  We simply aren't going to be able to compete at the highest levels with qb's who are average -- at best.  Let's hope our FIU transfer, Stone Norton, pans out.

I'm not sayin' -- I'm just sayin'!

I see Athlon Sports has us at #9 this week.  Up from #20.  https://athlonsports.com/college-football/fcs-spring-rankings-top-25-power-poll-following-week-3-2021

FCS Football has us at #11.  We were unranked last week.  http://www.fcs.football/cfb/polls.asp?div=fcs

If anybody cares, I give this week's game ball to Jajuan Blankenship.  Four solo tackles and 2 were for loss.  But they couldn't handle him all day.  Was fundamental in keeping NDSU in third and long all game.  Rapidly becoming this year's favorite player of mine.  Bryce Notree and James Caesar also had five tackles each and each get a Dawg-Tag.  I usually don't do this, but both the OL and the DL get Dawg-Tags too.  They controlled the lines-of-scrimmage all game.  Nobody could have predicted this.  Coaches Chuka Ndulue and Trevor Olson also get Dawg-Tags for being miracle workers.  I hope Nick realizes what he has with Ndulue.  This guy works magic.   Jason Petrino certainly redeemed himself after last week.  I still have a man-crush on him.  (I must admit we were a little on the rocks after last week).  The best news is that we have found a new qb and so we will have a chance to win the rest of our games.

I'm not sayin' -- I'm just sayin'!

And ranked behind NDSU!  And the Redturds are still ranked ahead of S. Dakota after losing to them on their home turf. NDSU struggled offensively against YSU and REALLY struggled every way possible against us. And they're still ranked #7!

N. Dakota is #4 this week.

Nic Baker is the MVFC Offensive player of the week. Well deserved. Check out some highlights.

Lyles is out for a while with two broken ribs. Nick Hill says Nic Baker earned the right to play...and now he needs to back it up consistently.
