Korey Lindsey the former great CB for SIU is back to finish his degree and help out with DB's--great to talk to him!
Thor Hadfield SIU's tremendous Long Snapper from a few years back was at practice the other day helping out too--
Jeremy Chinn--all conference FS was seen running back punts--maybe it's was just to get him ready in emergencies
Interesting to hear about Korey Lindsey. He was one of my favorite Saluki players, and even more when he was drafted by my Cincinnati Bungals..
thanks for the update.

I always enjoy your scouting reports. Can't wait.
I'm not sayin' -- I'm just sayin'!
Hey underdawg, wood, et al, did anybody go to the football scrimmage today? Would love to hear a scouting report. Thanks!

A lot of experimenting going on and guys getting reps with mostly first units that probably will not be number ones--for example Coleton Jeralds from Johnson City started with Tory Lewis at Cornerback with usual starter Titus Booker (transfer from wisconsin) sitting this one out. Jeralds said he was greatfull for the reps and for the most part did very well when matched up against Darrel James at WR.
Ralph Leonard, Landon Lenoir (younger brother of WIU all-conference star Lance) and Sam Bonansinga were the WR's on the first unit. Leonard had a tremendous one-handed catch and Bonansinga catches everything thrown near him.
Liked 6-3 247 LB Jalen Waters from Wisconsin--very fast for his size and will start with Cody Crider.
Missouri RB transfer Nate Strong looking good--power and speed.
Blake Parzych (DT) sat out from minor discipline problem and several others did not play just to rest them--Like Daquan Isom was dressed but did not play

Great report. It does sound like a typical spring scrimmage. Thanks!

Will there be a Spring Game at the end of the spring practice season?
Fray it will be at 12 noon Saturday at Saluki Stadium
Saw DeSomer playing QB on a news story on TV. I really thought he would be heading back to the secondary this year with all the new QBs they brought in.
two more frosh coming this fall--but he is , the only other player with in-game QB experience
We had a redshirt freshman, too. Was hoping he might be good enough to pass up DeSomer.
Yeh he will be in there too--but DeSomer has game experience. Brandon George is the QB of the future--maybe the future will turn out to be the 2018 season!

Without seeing the scrimmage or any practices thus far, I'm guessing they probably wanted to have DeSomer take some reps at QB to alleviate how many snaps Straub takes during the Spring since he just got cleared.
You're spot on, except for last Saturday's exception when they let Straub loose to throw 26 times--he did well completing 15 for 262 yards and 3 TDs
