FINALLY WOKE UP!  Great comeback, great second half.  Great character builder and momentum going forward.  But...won't be able to have very many first half naps like we had in this one.  Thrilled to see us wake up and get it done.  Keeps the momentum for a really good season alive.  And...too much Kendra..give her the mike and she just keeps right on going...

After such a crappy first half, amazing Southern covered. The line was -16

We were awful and uninspired 1st half. I know Baker was under pressure, but he played poorly - just too slow to react or to gain a little time. Risky throws into traffic.

2nd half much better and Baker also played much better. That RB transfer Donovan Spencer has some quicks. Needs more carries. D got psyched and played much better too.

Glad we won but disappointed the Redturds scored at all!  😀

Is our  big WR Jerron Rollins hurt? Didn't play.

@atlantasaluki Yeh she talked right through the action. T

I turn off the sound and stream audio of Mike Reis from https://siusalukis.com/

Easy to pause ESPN+ to sync audio.

That was nuts...

I'm glad I left my phone in the car for the first half. I might have gotten banned if I typed some of the things I was thinking. We looked like fish flopping around out of water sucking for air. Then BOOM! Switch flipped. The Hartrup kick return to the 30 (back to the 45 after the flag) got us rolling.

Only 8600 or so announced for attendance? Come on southern Illinois you can do better than that!

So glad we smoked the Deadbirds in the 2nd half like that!

@rabidsaluki

I saw a couple of photos of the tailgate, and it looked impressive-- surprised at that attendance figure (but not after seeing photos around the stadium).

I'm hoping enthusiasm will build on this.

I was there last week and the tailgate looked bigger than I could remember in past years.  Wonder if people are tailgating and not actually going into the stadium.

This is first time I've been to back-to-back games in quite a while. I'd like to see sustained attendance for the whole season, not that fall off that happens towards the end.

Take care of biz in Macomb next weekend and at the Jackrabbits (tall order, but you never know) and we might hit that 10k mark for UND.

That would be par for the course for SIU--some things never change! 😆

Good crowd today!  I was hoping to see that number in the 5 digits but it was good regardless.  Most fun I've ever had at an SIU football game!  Lets keep this momentum going!

Western Illinois next week is going to be tough.  They've gotten behind the last 2 weeks but have made huge comebacks in both games.  This week it led to a win over Youngstown State.  Seems like their defense is suspect but they can put up points.

Gotta question on the video replay. SIU had a ton of penalties called in the first half (and a few in the 2nd), but none were shown on the the big video screen as a replay. Is this a SIU or MVFC policy? I know it's not a NCAA thing because Kansas State replayed every controversial play, occasionally many times from different angles.

It was a strange game, no doubt. Dawgs played like crap in the first half with too many self inflicted penalties. Although the pass interference call was BS. Baker is good, but has a lot of growing up to do on decision making. Throwing into double coverage constantly with the receivers draped in defenders. WTH?

Agree with those who thought we were looking at an ugly loss. However, the Salukis came alive thankfully. IMO, the Saluki defense gets the game ball. Proud they didn't give up. MVFC is brutal and I suspect the ISU game will look like those to follow.

March on triumphantly!
