I. TOLD. YOU. SO.
Don't let the door hit you in the arse Jerry.
I hope we sue HIM for breach this time. Beat him to the lawsuit this time.
Almighty Jerry Kill had his foot out the door when he accepted the job just a few short months ago. Real classy. Real ethical. Real Kill.
I think Barkeep has a crystal ball. Kill gives Justin Fuente the Bell treatment.
Depends on who negotiated the last contract with Kill. If it was John Dunn, he would have had experience in dealing with a coach like Jerry. After all, he dealt with PJ when they were both at WMU.
I can understand him leaving, but the timing of leaving in the middle of the night more or less is just bad. If he announced he was leaving at the end of the semester to be in the booth next year somewhere, I would have been OK with it.
No search. Just hired Jarnigan. Hope I'm wrong, but I think that's just stupid.
It's incredibly stupid but that is what we do. However the other compounding issue is that we have no president and no chancellor. This gets very very old.
Craving a McBride Special!

That’s it, the new President is going to want their person as AD. I think Jarnigan deserves a shot as AD. That said, those of you who want a search might end up getting their wish.
Have to agree with Barkeep. Kill comes here, sticks it to Bell and screws up the BM hire last year. Hangs around to become the AD, then rearranges the deck chairs with BH and that train wreck, and ultimately hires BM. Then splits for another gig. All this after suing SIU after his football coaching job. That's bizarre. Well hopefully he is gone for good this time. I wish him well, but he's a most peculiar fellow.
As for SIU, musical chairs is the favorite parlor game. Would be a great school to study dysfunctional organizational dynamics.
March on triumphantly!

He still did good over all when you look at the entire department.
It's sad he chose to kill off any remaining goodwill here in this manner. It isn't surprising at all, however.
Sure he does
in a few weeks after Va Tech fires their coach he will take over
They just hired a new BB coach from Wofford who had a good record there, but his overall record is not great. So if he doesn't work out Va Tech has an inside to Mullins...

I'm having a hard time not seeing a conflict of interest, when the acting AD of a division 1 university visits the head coach of another division 1 university in a consulting roll for their football program. Then, ends up taking a position at that university. Shouldn't the AD be looking for ways to improve SIU football, not Virginia Tech?
All other things aside, i thought he was doing a good job and i hate to see him go.
Would Henderson be an option? Does anyone know for certain?
Would Henderson be an option? Does anyone know for certain?
Nah.

Nah.
No, he's not an option or no, no one knows for certain?

So you'd like to take someone who was let go for subpar results leading the baseball program and have him run the entire athletic department? Including overseeing the guy who was just hired to replace him?
Alrighty then ...
There are some terribly negative posts in this thread (and ones like it) concerning Jerry Kill.
I would like to see evidence and facts regarding the supposition that Jerry Kill is the second coming of Satan...and a selfish Satan at that...
I'm willing to be persuaded...but you had best back up your posts with more than innuendo, opinion and fake news!
(1) US COVID-19 statistics (February 29, 2020-June 16, 2020): 2,124,000 reported cases and 115,052 deaths
(2) Donald Trump (June 15, 2020) told a group of senior citizens that there would be very few cases of COVID-19 if the US stopped its testing and contact tracing: "If we stop testing right now, we'd have very few cases, actually."
(3) Donald Trump [(Jan 20, 2020), when asked if he's worried about a pandemic]: “No. Not at all. And we have it totally under control. It’s one person coming in from China, and we have it under control. It’s — going to be just fine.”
