I think I've mentioned this before, but now that MVFC teams are called MVC teams by the media I think it's a good time to bring it up again. Why not include NDSU, SDU, and SDSU in our basketball schedule? (At least as non-conference games.) If they joined the MVC and a 4th team could be found as a conference team it would be perfect for having East-West divisions.

I agree it would be nice to see some non-conference games with the Dakota schools; however I highly doubt the South Dakota schools would be interested in joining the Valley at this point due to the Summit League tournament being a huge success in Sioux Falls. A few years ago a very impressive new arena was built that has been a pretty nice home court advantage for SDSU in particular. It’s a huge deal for South Dakota to host that tourney every year so I think that could keep them in the Summit for quite awhile.
Murray State should be priority #1 if the MVC expands again. I know the market size is probably a problem but the MVC needs to be adding the best possible programs to turn the league around. Right now, KenPom has the MVC below the MAC in conference rankings.
Losing Wichita and Creighton greatly lowered the MVC reputation - and quality.

The MVC has lost 23 teams over the years, the majority lowering the reputation and quality as well. WSU and CU are just the most recent.
