I forgot to mention that Kill thinks a lot of our injuries, especially concussions were from worn turf.
We're overdue to change it. That turf usually gets very warn in the 8-10 year range. Optimally, it should have been done a year ago.
The new turf is great. I'm old so I played on first generation 'Astro' turf. Brutal. I never played baseball on it, but unfortunately I did play football on it. ISUred was the the worst. It was little more than laying a bath towel on an asphalt parking lot. And the turf burns were the worst thing about it. I still have burn scars from it. For a FCS program, we do have nice facilities.

I remember playing intramural flag football at the stadium back in 2012. The turf was so beat up then, can't believe it took them 7 years to replace it.
