@salukiworld I'm sort of surprised to see that. Javon technically had one more year, right?
He did indeed have more eligibility. I'm surprised a bit myself, but good luck to him. That's a tough guy to replace as he did so much for this team out of the wildcat, running the ball, and especially the last year or two catching the ball as both a RB and Split out as more of a TE/WR.
Good luck to Javon he has gave is all to the Dawgs for 4 years now maybe the offense can be a little more creative without Javon as you could key on him and you knew what was coming with him in the game
Hope he makes it. Some NFL team might really like his versatile skill set.
Darn good player. Dawgs are really going to miss his talent and versatility. Tough to replace.
Javon Williams Jr with Mike Reis:
Interesting quote about “adversity with the fans” I guess everyone complaining about him not getting the ball enough had some affect on him.
Javon's usage was really perplexing. They rode him a ton his first two years and he was right up there with Trey Lance for MVC Freshman of the year and the last few years it felt like they forgot he existed at times. I don't know if Javon requested not to be run down so much because he had an NFL career in mind?

Have to agree, but no way he requested not to get the ball so much. I still think the HC calling the plays is not a great idea. He didn't get the ball enough, and I think his big arm could have been utilized a lot more.
Larry Warner back on the coaching staff as RBs coach
AND
John Stiegelmeier is going out on top...will be interesting to see how SDSU fairs without him. They promoted from within (their D-Coordinator) so I guess hoping for some roster continuity, but Stieg was their play caller as well.
Wow - really glad to see Larry Warner back. One of the most exciting runners I've ever seen at SIU.
Another Mike Reis interview with Nick Hill on running backs/Jason Petrino leaving, etc:
