Would be lucky to win 2 conference games again
After the deflected interception, it's milque·toast offense. Dink and dunk scattered in with a few short runs by Davis.
Where's the hurry up, the scripted plays that get the offense in rhythm? Nowhere to be seen.
Didn't take their D long to figure us out.
Not that it mattered, but the dumb pooch punt decision was puzzling.
What the heck was that last pass play? Vision problems.
Kill better get hunting for a head coach. I like Hill but he is way over his head this team will be lucky to win 2 games this year . No offense to SEMO but they would be lucky to finish in the middle of the pack in the MVC. Hope I am wrong really want Hill to succeed.
This new QB has certainly been a disappointment. Bring on the Rochester High kid.
I disagree. He's been decent. Won't get any big runs from him though. I don't put this on him. Would be nice to have a running threat at QB too. We've had crappy, conservative play calling. We just don't have any break away running backs. And no D.
Hill needs to open up the playbook and hurry it up to have any chance of making this respectable!

He's got one more year - he'll get it I imagine. I think we beat WIU, Mo St, and maybe S. Dakota.
WIU losing to North Bama'.
SDSU playing Minnesota tough - down 13 - 7 at half.

Not blaming him entirely for the loss, but that 4th quarter passing was just atrocious. D was horrible, no doubt. So many problems. Looks like very little improvement IMHO.
March on triumphantly!
Nothing has changed. It's time to pull the plug on this failed experiment. Poor play calling and a QB that collapsed at the first sign of adversity. Really getting sick of this garbage.
Craving a McBride Special!
the scary part is they had 9 months to prepare.
Aside from the first quarter this was a very disappointing game. My two cents:
Offense looked very pedestrian. Labanowitz didn't look terrible, but looks like something of a game manager (or that's how he was deployed today) and with our defense as bad as it is, we need more than that on offense. DJ Davis had a really good game, but that was about it on that side of the ball. Made a couple bad plays and had a couple scores pulled off the board one by penalty and the other on a tipped pass (if that ball isn't tipped it's 6), but we were going to lose this game anyway.
Defense was pretty bad today and was a big reason why last year went as poorly as it did. They don't look like they will be much better this year. SEMO didn't do anything crazy IMO just spread the field and ran basic stretch plays to both sides and the backs found HUGE cutback lanes where our linebackers were supposed to be filling the gaps. Crider and Notree both looked slow and as a result our secondary was making first contact for a majority of the run plays 8-10 yards past the line of scrimmage. SEMO has a really good QB (we need someone like this) who can make plays with his arm and his feet. Wasn't really troubled all game save the first quarter. Most of their big chunk plays were back shoulder throws and one ball over the top where there guy made a nice one handed catch.
I think we are going to struggle mightily again this year if they don't figure out how to get some stops consistently . You aren't going to win many games giving up 44 points a game.
As much as I hate to say it, Nick's got to go.
Appears to me SEMO just has more talent. Better at QB, Oline, D
Santa Catalina is a good QB ,, and he can run - pretty good wheels.
I think SEMO will make the playoffs - and they would finish in the top half of the MVC IMO.
Still disappointed - thought we would be better.
Santa 14 - 24 (58% 248 yds) 1 td, 1 int rating: 150
Stone 16 - 28 (57% 217 yds) 0 td, 1 int rating: 115
SEMO 529 yds, 281 rush, 248 passing
SIU 387 170 rush, 217 passing D.J. Davis had a nice game - 125 yds rushing
