Using Javon Williams more might be a good idea. Don't think he would make much difference in the win column though. I agree with the other posters about the D line. and linebackers!  They did not look good. Unless they magically greatly improve, SDSU, Redturds, YSU are going to run all over us! (Not to mention UMass and Arkie St.)

Thought Stone was fine for his first game - he made a few bad passes (almost always when under pressure)  but also a few great passes. He didn't make any bad judgement throws that I remember. The interception was not his fault IMO. His stats were comparable to Santa for SEMO, except he didn't throw a TD pass.

D.J. Davis was the highlight for the Dawgs. Nice game.  Runs hard for a small RB.  Zion Custis for SEMO was impressive - really shifty and quick - 6.5 yds per.

I looked at this game as a test - we flunked big time - that's bad news for the tough schedule we have the rest of the year.

We have a brutalizing schedule, but I would like to remind everyone that SEMO is a nationally ranked team, they arent the punching bag of old anymore.  Losing on the road to them isnt really the shameful display it was in the past.

Speaking strictly for myself, I agree with you that SEMO is a good team.  They have great coaches.  Some were at SIU during its nationally ranked years.  My disappointments come from us not being able to compete physically or mentally and simply having inferior players when compared to them.  It shows how far we still are from being a top 20 team.

I'm not sayin' -- I'm just sayin'!

I would give Kill some time to get football fixed.  SIU should be a better program than SEMO, right now we are not.  We have superior facilities and play in a much much better conference.   SEMO's coaching staff has done a great job building that program from the ground up.  Unfortunately SIU's program is in bad shape and needs a complete overhaul.

They deserve to be ranked . Think they will be in the playoffs - should have won the OVC last year but somehow lost to Murray St. My problem is that they beat the SHIIIIIT out of us!  That was a shameful display IMO. If we played next week and they didn't have those 1st quarter jitters, the score might be 60 - 14! Stunned that SEMO is so far ahead of us - with our conference and facilities. Bet a million bucks our football budget is way more than theirs. No excuses at this point.  😪 😪

Tuke knows how to get it done for sure!

SEMO doesn't even have half the athletic department budget we do.

Too bad we didn’t hire Tuke when Kill left for NIU instead of going for Lennon. Still confused why Mario thought it was smart to make a hire out of the system that was already working. Tuke or any of Jerry’s guys probably would have kept the success going stronger than Lennon who rode Kill’s recruits for a few years and then failed miserably to keep it going. Granted, the Valley got a lot harder at the same time.

Most of what I could say has already been said, but Berner should be starting if he isn't. I didn't watch Thursday, and maybe I'm incredibly biased because I'm one of his neighbors back in Chester, but if that's true... that's bad.
