We need to score here - impress the committee. Hope Hill doesn't shut it down.

Evidently their idiot coach is mad because SIU still scoring! We're trying to make the playoffs. He'd do the same thing!

Not sure why Williams isn’t 100% but Williams at 50% is better than lyles at 100%

Not sure why he isn't the starting QB!

Nor I. The few passes he throws are already light years better than Lyles.

It's because he's averaging 6.8 yards a crack at running back. The staff obviously thinks he's too valuable at RB, and I'm inclined to agree. You can get away with a merely adequate QB when you've got the 1-2 punch we have with our current running game.

He's not strictly playing RB - he's playing wildcat/QB. I think you keep one of your best players on the field as much as possible. As you saw in the first half, when JWill isn't on the field much, we're not very good.

With him at QB, he plays more, we have built-in wildcat, we have less chance of KL screwing up, and we have  a guy that's probably a better passer than Lyles.

@mr_woogers

Lyles will remain the QB as long as we keep winning.

I saw Javon Williams play QB in high school.  I don't know if he's gotten more accurate, but he was one of those guys who couldn't hit water standing in a row boat.  I'm for leaving him at RB and throw in a few more passes to keep the secondary honest.

I'm not sayin' -- I'm just sayin'!

The schemes are quite different (full-time QB v wildcat). I suspect the coaching staff is loath to switch things up at this point, and I think they would be right to feel that way.

Full disclosure: I have grown increasingly leery of QBs who run a lot. They seem to spend a good part of their careers on the disabled list. I will admit to that bias.

But really, it's more that he's just so effective the way he's being used now, and I would hate to mess with that.

I agree that QBs that run a lot are just asking for a season ending injury. I just have no confidence in KL, especially when he's presssured, and I'm betting he'll get pressured big time next week.

I look for someone to reintroduce the single or double wing formation. This is basically what the wildcat is doing in a stripped-down fashion. Most teams now are running the short punt formation of bygone eras.
