If the BCS schools play more conference games and non-conference games within the Alliance, the money for FCS schools will not be available.

A few years ago I think the Big 10 decided not to play lower division FCS schools anymore (Barry Alvarez of Wisco said they wouldn't.)

That didn't last long. 😀  Those buy games are cheaper than BCS opponents and the fans and ADs love a sure win and a beatdown!  (like Montana vs Washington)

Ohio St. paid Oregon $1.7mill to upset them and is paying Tulane $1.5mill on 9/22. EVen MAC schools like NIU get big bucks. NIU is getting $1.5 mill to play at Michigan this week. (NIU's transfer QB Rocky Lombardi - great name - led Mich. St. to a win over Michigan a year ago) However, Michigan refuses to play App. St. ever again. LOL

I might be wrong but I think FCS teams will still get big paydays.

I feel like the filter that eliminates that name and every nickname that we could think of is this boards best quality

I’m a little more of the thought that more G5 teams will be dropping to FCS ball in the next decade, weeded out by the never ending arms race with no finish line of blue blood “national brand” FBS programs

"National Brand" indeed uncledawgpound.

The types of reforms to college sports governance and structure that Emmert is now advancing are not new. The Knight Commission on Intercollegiate Athletics, for one, has been promoting a plan to revamp Division I and pull major college football out of the NCAA’s purview altogether.
