Hydroxychloroquine fails to prevent COVID-19 in rigorous study
"There's basically no effect. It does not prevent infection," he said of the drug. Even if it were to give some slim advantage, "we'd want a much larger effect" to justify its use and risk of side effects for preventing illness, he said.
Results were no different among a subgroup of participants who were taking zinc or vitamin C, which some people believe might help make hydroxychloroquine more effective or fight the coronavirus.

The WHO still has an ongoing study.
@mr_woogers That article is 2 weeks old and using faulty stats re: patient status and dosAGES.

We can END the COVID 19 pandemic if we put human lives before profit and politics.
Identify patients who are at high risk to die & treat them WITHIN FIVE DAYS of onset symptoms.
I had a 99.7% survival rate in my patients and an 84% reduction in hospitalizations.
1. Hydroxychloroquine 200mg twice a day for 5 days
2. Azithromycin once a day for 5 days
3.Zinc sulfate 220 mg once a day for 5 days

This study was a very good, rigorous study - no faulty stats, but it was about preventing Covid 19, not curing it. A study in the Lancet was recently withdrawn by the authors due to hinky stats.
I have a relative near DC who believes he had this back in March. He's quite asthmatic, middle aged. At the time, he could not get tested in Maryland due to lack of tests, although he did see a doctor due to fever and shortness of breath. He swears that taking zinc and drinking Tonic Water (quinine) cured him in 5 days.
He said the shortness of breath was more like being at very high altitude rather than not being able to breathe.
He recommends taking a Zicam before going to Walmart! (and wearing a mask of course)
For certain heart patients, Zelenko's cocktail may not be safe according to Mayo Clinic. Snopes rates his claim of curing 669 patients as unproven, since he has published no data, described no study design, and reported no analysis. He published this claim in an open letter.

For some reason, he is leaving his medical practice in his Orthodox Jewish community.
There may be something to it, but a number have hospitals have tried it without much success.

Looks like the dominos are starting to fall. Doesn’t look good. 🏈
It's a bummer. If there are schools/teams that are having Covid outbreaks this season, it's likely games will be cancelled during the course of the season. Hopefully SIU can avoid interruptions to their schedule and stay healthy.

Great interview. Really hope we can have a football season!
One tidbit ya gotta love: NH had great things to say about Jeremy Chinn - 2nd round pick prepping for his 1st NFL season, big signing bonus, moving to a new city, etc. is finishing up his degree in summer school!
We need more players like that.
