Looks like 710 is moving into the old Carbondale Water Treatment Plant on Wall Street.
There are some interesting photos on their website of the past and present conditions at the old plant.
Could be a good move. Hopefully they get some other quality tenants in the space to make it more of a destination. I think the biggest risk, is the new location is off the beaten path, making it more of a conscious effort to make the trip to 710 versus seeing it and triggering people to stop in.

Seems like bad timing with the towers closing. That would have been a great source of traffic.

Are you sure? See nothing on social media with this. Would be a shame if true.
They turned down an order because they said they were closing.
Is this true? They have dominated everything for so long.
Don't know, but went there two weeks ago and it was very dark and quiet...
March on triumphantly!
May 25 is there last day.
...even the saluki athletics website link for "shopping" doesn't take you anywhere now.
SIU should have helped create a seamless transition into an option to purchase saluki gear from a local business (I guess university bookstore is the only option now), especially since the new logo change.
RIP 710
Moving into an old water treatment plant in a place on campus only occupied by kids going to the bars late on weekends seemed like a death sentence to me. Too bad.

Absolutely. These things happen when you let incompetent leaders rule the roost for decades. Another Carbondale institution is lost.
They lost additional clothing revenue with basketball in the toilet for so long.
