Dunn plans to hire an external consultant in the coming months to develop a new funding formula based on enrollment.
Always remember what the first 3 letters in consultant spells.

“There are incredible strengths to being part of a system,” SIUC Chancellor Montemagno said of the proposed separation in an emailed statement.
I bet there is when you shamelessly steal money from your partner campus.
If we split the campuses, do we then we get to eliminate the board? If they keep screwing around and the legislature (who by and large sees downstate as deplorables) decides this, then we may see them just shutter the Cdale campus.

SIUC Chancellor Carlo Montemagno said that as a scientist, he as a problem taking the pro forma position that money should be reallocated to Edwardsville.
“I think that we have to determine what the impacts are on our communities, because we have a responsibility to our communities.
If he's that interested in the community, then he needs to start working on cutting costs as a means of keeping the doors open.

SIUe is kicking big brother's butt in this ranking.

Siu -Carbondale is ranked in the National rankings. What you are quoting is regional rankings. Not the same .
For the record, Charles Koen is a convicted felon who spent 12 years in prison. He was convicted of embezzlement, misapplication of federal funds, theft of public money, false statements, arson, and mail fraud.
I wonder why kids don't want to enroll at SIU?

Wouldn't black students be better off by focusing on getting a major in something that pays well? We is there even something called african american studies?

Admitting unqualified students regardless of race is a bad idea. It’s a disservice for the poor who get saddled with silly student loan debt they can’t pay off. The students who were admitted under the Center for Basic Skills program would be better off with going to a community college and getting prepared for a four-year education in that matter, IMO. Thankfully that program is admitting at a far lower number than before.
I get the intent of wanting a diverse SIU. I want that too. It has to be done on merit. SIU should get as many minority students as it can, but they have to be prepared to come in and perform in the academic environment like everyone else.

There are a lot of students (all colors) who would benefit from a start as a JUCO student. It's criminal to lure kids into a 4 year school for political reasons, burden them with debt, and all they get is a worthless degree for their trouble.

Scathing report on Dunn today on "the Southern.com". Claims he has been working behind the scenes to move more money to Edwardsville and in favor of split. Says he purposely kept the Carbondale Board members in the dark and planned with Edwardsville board chair to get 5 million added to SIUE at the expense of SIUC. Also the reporteed 60/40 split is a myth. Montemagno was kept in the dark to"shut up the bitchers from Carbondale"
Evidently, some of Dunn'e emails were leaked.

The article was an opinion piece, written by a professor at SIUC. She states the received the emails through a FOIA request.
This does not look good....
