Finally!! What a POS!!
Good.
As someone who went to school with Dr. Dunn’s oldest daughter at Chester, I take no joy in this fall. Still, it had to be done. It’s best for everyone to move on.
Problem is the board that extended him in December 2016 is still there. Also, if Montemagno doesn’t have enrollment success fast, he should join Dunn on the unemployment line.
The forces that wanted a system split above Dunn, that were pushing him, are still in state government. Now they see blood in the water. Wish us luck, we are going to need it. Save celebrations for when Carbondale has an increase in enrollment.
Here is a link to the board agenda and the proposed separation agreement.
Dunn starts his new job as a professor at Edwardsville on Jan. 1, 2019. $100k.
“I do not fault my colleagues at SIU Edwardsville for making a case that they believe is in the interest of their institution,” Montemagno said in a response to the proposal on his blog on April 4. “However, I feel strongly that a sudden, unexplored plan to advance one institution while damaging another is not in the best interests of the SIU System, any institution that is a part of it, or the southern Illinois region.”
Didn't we just blatently steal a very large sum of money from e?

We borrowed 30 million and paid it back when we got state funding. Different than a permanent 5 million a year transfer without any evaluation.
Yes, we borrowed the money from SIU-E, because they practice cost savings and frugality...things SIU-C was just too important to do. Which school acts cool, but looks the fool?

Did we pay that money back? Is there a link?

He's getting a severance? Since when do employees get a severance when they quit? No wonder the state is broke.

If approved, he will receive six-months severance and then be hired as a professor at e for $100k per year.
@saluki_engineer, this is normal. He did not just walk in and quit. He offered to resign for a negotiated settlement since he was under contract for a number of years.
