Not sure if the foreign trip location was known but they will be heading to Cuba in August.

Sounds appropriate...

If Coach Hinson follows this site, I would like him to bring me back a couple of Romeo Y Julietta Churchills Cubans.  I'll pay him cash when I come back for Homecoming.

UT Martin just picked up a 6'5" ESPN 4 star transfer from Pittsburgh.  He is a Freshman point guard.

Catch is, it is Parker Stewart, Coach Anthony Stewart's son.   Coach Stewart was an Assistant Coach at SIU for C-Low in 2008.

Does anyone else wonder what the story is with this year's Vegas tourney?   I wondered about the venue for this as Orleans Arena had another tournament listed for these dates (featuring NC, UCLA, Texas, and Mich State).   However, it's now listed on their site but I don't see how it's possible.   If there's 4 games per day per tourney, one event would eat up most of the available hours at the Arena.    Complicating things further, they have our tournament listed for Noon on 11/23 with the other tourney having games scheduled at 1 and 3:30? This double booking seems strange and I wonder if this tourney is going to fall to pieces where we have to scramble for another event like in the past?

The website says the game times for the tournament SIU is in have not been announced.  If you look where it says noon, it says that game times will be announced closer to the tournament date.

OH BOY! TWO HBCU SCHOOL'S ON THE SCHEDULE! Said no one ever...

Howard finished with an RPI of 339 and Pine Bluff finished with 303. "Should" be easy wins for them but i'm not putting my eggs in the basket yet.

Hucky Wins again...

Well Nevada has to play # 309 and Cal Baptist which is a D-2--it's part of the deal for being in the Tournament. Of course we will play NCAA participant Murray State at home, Winthrop at Home and SLU (who will be great) at home. I've also heard we're working on two more post season (2018) teams--an NCAA and an NIT participant and a P 5 team-

If that non-con schedule worked out, the little huckster would fill his pants.   If he has anything to do with it I guarantee we'll get a speech about how he called every school that participated in post season last year and they all told him emphatically "No".........because SIU is just going to be too damn good this season.

I guess we should stop complaining about terrible non-conference schedules. LSU a decent SEC basketball school has a terrible non-con schedule.

The big difference is they play in the sec so they are going to play high rpi teams no matter what their non con schedule is. If SIU doesn't play and beat good teams in non con then all that matters is winning the valley tournament.

I thought you meant we were playing Memphis, Houston, and St Mary's and I can't even blame alcohol.

Davis: "I don't really want home games (noncon). I want to play the hardest possible schedule--maybe a couple of home ones" They had 13 non-con losses in a row and no home games--sounds fun
