i wondered about that. Noticed he isn't on the roster anymore. Maybe i'm late to the party here, but does anyone know what happened to Jimmy Beane?

We were told for multiple reasons Jimmy will not be at SIU next year. Would not have been here whether his uncle was the coach or not
I know the roster looks thin right now on the website but if we can get a couple more guys in I think we can compete a little next year. Still may be rough wins and losses wise but there are some pieces. For now lets say Darius stays since he is on the roster..
Cook, Mcgill, Beane, Gooch, Benson start
Brown, Francois, Dembele off the bench.
We could use more help obviously but I don't feel like our starting 5 will be outclassed. I have said all along if that starting back court stays together I love the potential they have defensively to disrupt games with Mullins coaching them up.
I would love to add a couple more contributors though.

There is also Lance Jones from Evanston, who I'm guessing will see minutes.
Definitely need more help to be competitive next year, as evidenced by your slotting of Gooch in the starting lineup. He would need to make some major strides.

Make shots and rebound. He has shown the ability to get rebounds. Just needs to shoot with confidence.
I'd be amazed if Gooch starts. Don't know if any of the freshmen will red shirt. People seem to be forgetting about
4A (big schools) 1st team Illinois Basketball Coaches Association:
Max Christie Rolling Meadows 6'6"
Donovan Clay Alton 6'7"
Ray J Dennis Oswego East 6'2"
DaJuan Gordon (Chicago) Curie 6'4"
Lance Jones Evanston 6'1"
Marquise Kennedy (Chicago) Br. Rice 6'1"
EJ Liddel Belleville West 6'7"
Sincere Parker Rockford East 6'4"
DJ Steward (Chicago) Whitney Young 6'4"
This kid can play - 15 pts, 2 assist, and 4 steals in championship game.
We need big guys, not guards.
I know this, the guys that Mullins WILL have on the floor will be able to play some D, that is for sure !!!!
I've not been overly impressed by Gooch's play during his time as a Saluki, but he just might be the type of kid that can play for a coach like Mullins. He's physical and will get after some rebounds. He can also knock down an open shot on occasion. I do have a hard time seeing him as a starter though.

Again, Who says? Bryan Mullins is 100% playing 4 guards 90% of the time and the other 10% we will play 5 guard line ups... If you have 3 big mean you trust each year you are fine. Based on who he is targeting he doesn't feel he needs bigs that bad...

I have always felt like he was a good shooter... The way coaches and teammates talk about him... Now imagine your role being a shooter and playing every 5th game for 3 random minutes never knowing when they are coming and missing 1 shot then not seeing the floor again for 2 weeks. I think if hes given time to settle in, he can contribute. Not great, but he can be okay.
Bryan got a huge commit today. Details coming soon

He plays basketball. That’s all your getting. We let these kids announce it on their own. Not taking away their moment. You will know soon enough
