I think it was mentioned previously that there would not be any schools from the BIG MONEY conferences in this tournament. Hopefully they can bring in a few mid-majors that were in the NCAA or NIT last season in order to boost the value.
Brings that you have no clue who the other 5 teams are you should probably hold off a bit before complaining
Doubt they’re much better. That being said, I’m completely cool playing a watered-down schedule year 1 after losing 75% of the roster. If we’re into year 3 and we’re not playing a schedule worth a damn, I’ll get concerned.
I have no issues with this tourney at all, given that it kicks off the season and it will presumably take a while for all these new faces to gel. Smart.

If good teams are added, I may change my opinion slightly. However, my comments yesterday were in regards to the comment about Oakland and Delaware being exciting opponents. I don’t expect much different with the rest of the field though. Most teams that have any chance of sniffing postseason have plans for an exempt tourney already. Also, with NEC being a sponsor of this event, I’m assuming one of their teams will be added. No matter who this is, it will be another crap team. We could win this event and it will do nothing for us. Scheduling like this by any team in the MVC hurts all members and should not be tolerated.

Honestly I don’t think even Bryan had a clue how much talent he was going to be able to bring in. Plus most if not all of the decent tournaments were probably filled. Chalk this one up to BBQ. AGAIN

Absolutely. BBQ was fighting for his life and had an exit strategy developed anticipating another fail.
Next year's tournaments were not even on his radar screen. Sorry, I did not want to mention him and hope this is my last reference ever.
While this tournament is obviously soft, it works well for this new group of players and coaches. Would rather have them ease into the season than get blown away by the bigs.
March on triumphantly!
Worrying about next years schedule with a new coach is silly.
The immediate focus is/was on recruiting and filling out the roster.
Saw an update on the playing field for the Sunshine Slam tournament they are playing to open the season. Oakland and Delaware will be apart of the tournament. Would be nice to play one or both of those schools. Both programs are coming off sub-par seasons.

Spoke to Mullins and we can expect a home game vs Hampton University. He's also working a really good Home and Home with a solid C-USA school that could be a fun road game traveling to.

Was just told SIU will be playing at Missouri

There once was a coach named Barry
Who scheduled like the sugar plum fairy
He signed for a tourney
of corpses on a gurney
But it still didn't fool AD Jerry!

Maybe Middle Tennessee?

Nope. Hang on a bit we will let you know. It is not finalized yet
Just heard it from a third person so I guess it is public info. Bryan is working on a home and home with So Miss
