Looks like Michigan is gonna save the Big Ten from total embarrassment
Well maybe "total" embarrassment. But Big 10 is an epic fail here no matter how you slice it, even if Michigan goes all the way. My prediction was they would lose five teams in first round, but eight! No way to spin this positively.
However, I don't completely blame Big 10. Major sports media laps up and promotes the blue blood spin. This year's hype was Big 10, while failing to see that the south has lovingly adopted basketball. In formerly strong football regions, basketball has taken root, if not over, (really not a bulletin) e.g. Texas, Alabama, Florida, Mississippi etc. This trend is irreversible media.
Anyway, the media is lazy. Is anyone surprised?
The Big 10 has really filled their collective diapers! (Rutgers though had their game in the bag against the Cheating Kelvin Sampsons and managed two unforced tos to blow a 4 pt lead with the game almost over)
Baylor looks back to their early season form. I think they have a clear path to get to the Championship game. Gonzaga has a tougher road.
Really impressed with USC and UCLA!
Loyola is major trouble. Down 11 with 15:49 left and shooting 6-27 from the field (22.2%)
Oregon State on to the Elite Eight. 65-58
Thought the foul trouble in the first half took away some of Loyola’s aggressiveness and mojo. And obviously they weren’t comfortable against the Beaver zone and shot it poorly.
Frustrating because it was a very winnable matchup but the win over UIUC and careers of Krutwig and Williamson will be long remembered. Big props.
A couple bunnies drop, make another FT, and it's a different game. So close.
Sadly just waiting for the BS about a mid not ultimately being able to hang with a P5 or some such crap.
(Inflammatory political snark)
#15 Oral Roberts up 3 on #3 Arkansas with 7:55 left. Looking to be the first 15 seed to ever make the Elite Eight.
Arkansas hangs on. Abmas got a great look for the win.

Offensive rebounding deficit was killer, as is often the case against power conference teams.
Too bad. Almost a helluva moment at the end.

The whole LGBQT and ABCDS crowd were cheering against O.R.

Creighton giving Gonzaga all it can handle. Aaron cook getting some PT but it doesn't seem to me that Suggs is all that eager to share the ball with him.
Gonzaga pulling away now. Wow are they impressive
They are indeed. The Zags and Baylor remain my 2 favorites to win it all. My hope, however, is Houston (for financial purposes).
What a shot by Alabama to save their season and get it to OT vs UCLA

#11 UCLA dominates OT and on to face #1 Michigan in the Elite Eight
And killed my hopes of a free premium membership 😪
