Southern's side of that bracket, with Minnesota and UNLV, seems quite a bit tougher than the other side, which is very soft. Not sure how the bracket works, but you want to play the tougher teams ... that's the whole point of these tournaments. I think UNLV is somewhat on the upswing.

They’ll likely play either Minnesota or UNLV and then the winner or loser of the other game on their bracket depending on who wins/loses. It’s just 2 games in California and one on-campus game in Carbondale against a team from the other bracket
Official bracket is out. SIU will welcome Tennessee State to Carbondale for the off-campus game and will play UNLV on November 21st in California. There will be a 2nd game on the 23rd depending on who wins and loses.

Last year’s inaugural tournament also had on-campus games so we’ll likely see one of Cal State Northridge, Central Michigan, High Point, or Tennessee State at the Banterra Center
Let's beat UNLV and play Minnesota. Our out of conference schedule is already hopefully shaping up to be better than last year. Both SLU and UNLV should be pretty decent next year. SLU could be really good!
Has SLU decided they're not going to give us a home and home any longer?

Not sure about the future of the series but the game this year is in Carbondale. They were supposed to meet last year but it got pushed back a year because the MVC played the 1 game in early December which interfered with the scheduled game.
Saint Louis is gonna be good this year, might be a top 25 team when they come into the Banterra Center.
Last year's home schedule was awful. I like that we already have 3 D1 home games locked in with a potential 5 games open (assuming we do play at SEMO). Nice start to the home non conference schedule.

Agreed !!! I also think we're better equipped this year to face stronger competition.

Not to mention we automatically get a better home slate with Murray State and Belmont coming to the arena for MVC home play this year. UIC isn't a bad add to the home slate either. Would rather add them to the slate than a non D1 placeholder. I'll miss the Loyola games at home, which had replaced Creighton and Wichita State as potential Top 25 rivalry games at least once a year. Hopefully Murray and Belmont can help fill that void.
Speaking of SEMO, I see Brad Korn signed a 7 footer from The Netherlands. They were decimated from portal transfers this Spring.

I think they're planning to do 20 MVC games (not 22), so it won't be a true round robin ... one of the cons of going to 12 teams. So, I guess there will be two teams everyone only plays once, and I'm sure that will rotate year to year for as long as they stay at 12 teams.
I'm sure the teams that only get one Evansville date this year will file a formal complaint with the league office. 😀

Luckily for them, the OVC is a total dumpster fire. I think Lunardi has SIUe winning the OVC in his Bracketology
I want Ohio Dominican again - chance to even our record against them! 😀
I would rather they go to 16 games with a 5(2)+6 arrangement.
