It appears so. Why do you ask?
Okie State THIS year? Is one of the game this year? If so, good. That wraps up a semi-decent sked.

Now that the full schedule is out, overall some good games are there...unfortunately they are all away from Carbondale. Bucky Dent mentioned they had a verbal agreement in place with Sam Houston for a home and home that they backed out of so maybe that's why you see the D2 game or maybe that's the Chicago State game, either way 🤮.
The SLU and OSU game will make for a fun home slate next year when hopefully we have all our super seniors back and we are coming off a conference championship, but this home schedule is pretty awful.
If we can beat UNLV and earn the Minnesota game, this can turn out to be a decent schedule. Here’s to hopin!

Yes, away this year, home next, then away again.
I know he’s not popular but guessing Hinson had something to do with getting a Big 12 team to Carbondale so he deserves some praise
BBQbarry is the water boy or something in the OSU AD Department. Finally comes up large for SIU basketball.
I'm not sayin' -- I'm just sayin'!
The Oklahoma State deal is fantastic considering a home game next year as part of the equation.
The noncon home schedule, though, is pure cringe, for the second straight year, which is why I was so alarmed when I saw the Saint Louis game was on the road, contrary to what had been previously reported.
Overall, there are just too many games against likely bottom-third of D-I opponents. Even if Southern had a really, really good year and somehow was flirting with the bubble, can you imagine the talking heads having a field day going over some of those non-con opponents? That four-game stretch in December of Alcorn State, Lincoln, Chicago State and at SEMO might be the worst four-game stretch of schedule I can remember for the program.
Oklahoma State is a nice add this year. Three Man Weave has them at #33:

They don't really have the big Cade Cunningham high school recruit but did a nice job with the portal.
The rest of the schedule besides UNLV and Saint Louis is trash though. This can't be like last year where SIU dropped games to Tulsa and Little Rock, they have to beat all the teams they're clearly better than and then take 2 against the UNLV's, Minnesota's, Saint Louis', and Oklahoma State's to even have a chance at an NIT bubble.

Hopefully Mullins is interviewed at some point both about how this series came to be and about the home schedule. If so, I hope he speaks authentically to whatever challenges/issues are in place that are leading to the home schedules we've seen in recent years and doesn't try to tell people a noncon home slate of Little Rock, Tennessee State, Alcorn State, Lincoln and Chicago State is anything other than what it is: really bad.
The road/neutral schedule is fine, maybe even good, but unfortunately the home portion is going to be a large problem if postseason play is the goal (not to mention from an attendance standpoint).

He started off as an analyst in the basketball program. He's now an associate AD, in charge of the NIL efforts at Oklahoma State.
Being fair, I'm guessing we would have said the same thing at this time last year if we played those same 4 teams and we possibly would have lost 1-2 of those games. On paper we are significantly better than last year but there still are a lot of questions outside of Jones and Domask. High hopes don't always equate to wins. If SIU wins every one of these games handily and finishes in the top 2 of our conference and doesn't make a post season tourny, I'll be happy to by beers for us as we drink our sorrows away. Until then I'm hopeful everything comes together and this team wins 20+ games and surprises even the koolaid drinkers this year. : )
For those that want to criticize the non-conference home schedule.
I'm going to use common sense, and perspective.
The following schools will play Alcorn State at HOME this season.
Ole Miss, Wichita State, UTEP, Arizona State, Tennessee, Dayton, Minnesota, Southern Illinois. I count four Power 5's and solid Mid Majors.
The following schools will play Chicago State at HOME this season.
Northwestern, Marquette, Minnesota, Kent State, Marshall and Southern Illinois. I count three Power 5's. and two solid Mid Majors.
The following schools will play Tennessee State at HOME this season.
Southern Illinois, Saint Louis, Austin Peay as well as SEMO, a regional school we've had on our schedule for 30 plus years.
We will play UNLV, OSU, and potentially Minnesota. Throw in a much better conference and schedule with the additions of Belmont, Murray and UIC, and you have a solid slate for a Non top 25/50 Mid Major building a program. Doubters are gonna doubt. Before complaining, think about it and use some perspective. I've never had to schedule a D1 basketball schedule before, don't know the issues or challenges. Who am I to judge? Trust the process, if you don't want to, that's on you.
GO DAWGS!
