Troy and Cade are both in boots

Hornecker's injury looks to be more long term. Hopefully it doesn't affect his season. D'Amico should be ok by the time regular practice starts.

Ugh. Hornecker is a kid who could use as much practice/development as possible.

We saw how Ebube’s extended absence impacted his season when he returned.

Sorry to hear we already have a couple of guys injured.  Hope Hornecker and D’Amico heal quickly.  We need both of those guys to contribute this year.

Looking at the latest photo release of the trash pick-up I don't see anyone in a boot.   Troy MAY have an aircast or something on his right foot...

Looks like walk-on guard JR Jacobs is no longer listed on the roster?

There’s been talk about the team’s size/length this season. To that point, 8 of the 13 scholarship guys are listed as 6-6 or taller, and another (McGee) is 6-5.

Here’s hoping Mullins leans into that opportunity in his rotations and the length shows up in terms of being disruptive defensively, getting deflections and steals that turn into fast breaks and improved offensive rebounding.

Offensive rebounding was horrible last year.  During the Rich Herrin days that was a fundamental skill that every kid on the team had to have.  Bring that concept back!

I think this is the first I've heard that Hensley needs a waiver and his eligibility for the season is uncertain.

I thought he and D'Amico would likely split time at the 4. Sure hope Troy is in a good place, health-wise.

This is his 3rd D1 school. Guess he went to UNC-Greensboro freshman year. From the NCAA:

"Let’s suppose you want to transfer to your third four-year school. Let’s also suppose that the previous two four-year colleges you attended offered your sport. In this hypothetical, the transfer is allowed but with a penalty of sitting out a year. That means you will not play and possibly not practice with the team for an entire year."

So he has asked for a special dispensation from the Pope of the NCAA to play this year I assume.

The NCAA has been very difficult to get waivers from over the last year in these situations (see Noah Fenske). Quite possibly the worst governing body in all of sports. They can't get a handle on NIL/transfer portal issues (biggest threat/issue to college athletics as I see it) , but have decided their hill to die on is going to be this second transfer with little regard for the student athletes situation.

I have no idea on Hensley's situation (forced out by the coach, didn't like his playing time, getting closer to family, etc.) and whether I think it warrants a waiver but I do know there are absolutely situations where programs force a kid out or there is a coaching change that should qualify someone for a waiver that they are denying. Just an absolute dumpster fire of an organization.

This would make a weak portal class look even weaker

Speaking of the above, Hensley looked pretty good in a couple clips from that intrasquad scrimmage, while it looks like D'Amico (and Hornecker) may still be sitting out.

Agreed had some nice post moves (of course highlights can fool a lot of people). We also knocked down all our shots from deep 🤣. I sure hope we have everyone back for the secret scrimmages. Hopefully some insiders are able to get us information about those soon. We don't even have dates on any of them yet.

The Freshmen (Sharp/Davis) looked pretty impressive in this video
