Well personally this sucks. While the back-court appeared to be getting crowded, SIU could use Aaron's leadership next season. It appears Mullins & Co are rebuilding the roster again.
Yeah, unfortunate, but you could kind of feel/see it was heading that way.
Wish him well.
Still trust BM and Co. We knew this would not be a swift rebuild.
March on triumphantly!
Well, now I kinda wish he had come back when he was supposed to last season. 😆
While I'm good with Jones/Banks running the show at PG next year, this obviously stings in a few major ways (losing a very good player, losing a senior leader on a young team, and now having at least six scholarship holes, which is just too many to fill with quality guys).
All these transfers also underscore how difficult relationship-building/roster continuity has become today for college basketball coaches. I thought that would be a real strength of Mullins', and maybe it ultimately will be, but it's not great to see so many kids walking out the door voluntarily, even with some of them being Hinson recruits.
Pretty frustrating.
Would be nice to have a very experienced guard - but doesn't bother me much. He was going to get less playing time due to the talent we have and will have.
I think people are over-estimating Cook. He was very inconsistent. Had good games at times. I used to hate to see him at the FT line late in close games. And even this past year, he was a TO machine.
As a freshman, he shot 18.5% from three playing 10.6 mins/game. We've got more talented guards in Jones and maybe Banks.
Told y’all back in January he was gone
They don't listen.

Well aren't you special!!! 🙂
We are now basically where we would have been-had Cook played last season. Still disappointing.
I am shocked I tell you
actually you guys argued enough I was starting to question a source who had never ever been wrong. Won’t happen again
now we move forward

Sorry, but this is an awful take.
You'd rather have Cook than not have Cook, there's a reason high major programs are after a player like him. The good news is, we didn't expect to have Cook next year so getting him back would have just been a bonus.
The bad news is, you're going to have to fill 6-7 roster spots again this offseason, what's to say you're not going to see the same turnover again next offseason?
I am happy with the young pieces we have. This is a total complete rebuild of a dumpster fire. It takes time to build a culture
